  1. Very interesting. It would be great to hear from Alamy themselves regarding their way of "pushing" pics, and if there's anything we can do as contributors to improve the likelihood of use. Edit: And also if anybody has experience from on a newsdesk that receives Alamy, what the experience is like on that end as well.
  2. Sorry, I could've been clearer. I mean, it seems during events, newspapers tend to have other agency's pictures up very quickly and in larger numbers, and the Alamy options are kind of left behind til later or not used at all.

  8. Just to confirm, if you make a copy of an old photograph / postcard that's fallen out of copyright, this is to be marked as public domain?
  9. Public place = no implied right to privacy, unless the pictures taken are indecent. It's up to the publication to decide whether the content is suitable for their usage, and they ultimately bear responsibility for publishing. In the eyes of the law, you're not doing anything wrong. As an experienced press photographer once told me - there's a difference between taking a general shot of a crowd, and going right into somebody's face (whether physically or with a zoom lens) for a shot.
