  1. Niche is interesting. In my case, I shoot a lot of rock climbing images. I don't place my best ones here, instead, I use a market-specific agency. (Adventure sport-focused.) I had a good photography friend who's stock was all about commercial farming. If it was related to commercial farming and you needed the shot, he had it. He had a lot of commercial assignment in that world, which gave him access. He had a very specialized niche, especially when the industry still ran on slide images instead of digital. (I remember carrying two Pentax K1000 cameras, one with Chrome, one with Fuji) Emmanuel
  2. confirming we're talking about the same camera? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DM8R866/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 I just need a great walking around camera, this one seems to be what comes up most often. Willing to hear about other models too.
  3. I've been looking through the forums for an idea on which walking around camera to buy. Want to buy something that will definitely have the needs to pass QC here and on Getty. Alamy use to have an approved camera list, but as technology improved, the list seems obsolete. RX100 II (Not sure of it's sony or lung( seems to keep coming up in the forums as a good camera for the task. What are you using? Or, what do you recommend? I'll order via Amazon in the U.S., but if you know a better deal, share the link. I might consider used too. Emmanuel
  4. definitely split it between two locations. 😄
  5. Thanks in advance for any advice or help. Based on a thread in the other forum, I need to do some spring cleaning to my portfolio. To many similar images Caption Keywords What I am hoping is that I can do this in bulk of some form. Ideally, can I search all my images using a keyword and have them show up in the keyboarding too? How? If not, what method would you recommend? Where do I delete similar or duplicate images? On animals and flower, scientific name or not? Thanks ahead of time, Emmanuel

  7. 1 sale per 1000 photos month. I am definitely doing something wrong here. Hope I figure it out quickly.
  8. Anyone here interested in f=getting together to shoot one day. Might be fun. I live in Covina, southern california.
  9. Funny, critiquing those who find trends in order to earn living. Isn't that what advertising and stock about. Finding things that people are interested in, creating the images and licensing them. Whether editorial or advertising, having what others want to see is what's important.
  10. How fun. My first SLR was a Pentax K100. Used a lot of KodaChrome and 100 Speed Fuji Slide film those days. Support my habit, rock climbing, with slide shows and guiding. Sold the occasional photo. First DSLR was a Nikon D80. Use it a lot, but both my wife and I upgrade to the D90 years back. *Still use those today.
  11. Thanks all. Yes, I am going to use the actual scanner as the camera. I see no reason why it wouldn't work. I created some images this way in the past for local stores, but never for stock. Man
