  1. "images offline"

Mmmmm, feel a bit silly now, got one of these and my paranoia kicked in. Reported it to Alamy thinking it was some kind of phishing scam. I dont have any images "Not on Sale" and the reply addresses looked a bit iffy............Oooops Roger

  8. Live News forum

I don’t think Alamy could or should issue credentials based on 10 Live News submissions, hardly the qualification for an official press pass issued through the UK Press Card Authority (UKPCA). As Allan hints Alamy News is very good at helping with press accreditation for events if requested but that is very different from a Press Card. A few years ago another agency, did for a fee, issue a Press Card ID which was not recognised by any of the normal authorities, UK Police etc. Roger

  10. News Images

I think I've sussed this, if you click on "Edit this image" to correct caption spellings (as I have to sometimes!) it will show as on sale if there are sufficient tags. It does not however show in stock. Tested this theory with my last news upload. Roger
  11. Live News Captions

Like Geoff and Martin I prepare a Photo Mechanic stationery pad in advance if I know what I will be covering, with a generic second sentence in the caption leaving room for a first sentence to identify the who, what etc. This way I try to make sure every image has a descriptive caption of what it portrays, which is my answer to Sallys original question. I have a folder of Stationery Pad templates, xmp files and pmcode replacements ready for whatever pops up. I see Keith’s point on speed but if the images have different people/content in the same event they need different captions, just a wee bugbear of mine! Roger
