  1. Hi everyone, I would like to get advice from a professional photographer, if possible, about what is the best DSLR camera to use in your experience, which one should I buy for selling images through Alamy? I plan to take snapshots of still imagery (I believe that is what is called), in other words, only for still shots. I want to get different views on how you guys utilize various cameras, so that then I can weigh in the best possible answer. Thank you :)
  2. Hi everyone, Just to make sure, are we as sellers required to provide tax form information to Alamy? I ask this because I see other similar contributor websites requiring this. As far as I understand, Alamy does not mention anything related to taxes. Yet, they do mention something about fees, but I don't know if it is only from PayPal and/or Alamy, but I remember the terms saying that it is a very low amount, about $1 to $10, not sure. If so, do I need to work this out first, and if I do, do I need to contact the IRS to request a form? I have never worked officially for any company, so what would I need to do if am required to provide information to Alamy and/or the IRS? Thank you. Regards, Javier
  3. Hi everyone, Does anyone know if I am permitted to uncheck the "Exclusive" option on Alamy Image Manager, even though my vectors are already on sale? Thanks, appreciate all your replies. Regards, Javier
  4. Greetings Betty, Thank you for the constructive feedback, I can now see what you mean by only using "literal" tags and concepts, but can I change that now even though they are already on sale? Kind Regards, Javier
  5. Hi DJ Myford, I appreciate your feedback, it is very helpful, I understand more clearly now, thank you.
  6. Hi everyone, If there is anyone who is either an expert, professional, or knowledgeable illustrator or graphic designer, I would appreciate your critique: On the "Woman with the Blue Dress" vector, I am a little concerned about her dress showing a little more of the left leg. My intention was to create a very "wave-like" pattern that relates to the idea I described in the "Water Element", which I have a lot of text written in it. I thought the wet dress was a good concept that linked to the water jar illustration. I also, like the cool-looking design I have of the overall dress. However, I because it is meant for inspiring women, I don't want them to think that I am somehow sexualizing it. Should I cover more of the top left leg, and and middle of the right leg? Another thing was that I included additional description that said it was for women of any gender, so what do you think? Finally, There seems to be somewhat overwhelming text, but I tried my best. Anyway, from my personal view I believe it is genuine and love it. Can I edit my images through Alamy Image Manager or in My Portfolio Page? One last thing, please review my other vectors, even though I believe I have them right, there maybe something I haven't noticed, please offer me advice if you can, thank you.
  7. Hi everyone, good news, the status is now on "good and/or optimized discoverability, so I it is solved, thanks for viewing my post anyway, much appreciation for all of you.
  8. Hi everyone, I constantly check my images (vectors), as one of them show it is "on sale", while the others don't on Alamy Image Manager. Yet, they all passed the quality control process, and show a "green bar", which has a status of "good discoverability", so I assume they are all on sale with good discoverablity. Still, I am a little concerned, about my dashboard displaying all of pictures in "poor discoverability" status. Since I just recently uploaded them two days ago, I will wait at least one more day to see if it changes. Next, I don't know if it is just that it does not load or something else. Please share your thoughts or knowledge, I will appreciate it, thanks.

Still, I am a little concerned (not so much), about my dashboard displaying all of pictures in "poor discoverability" status. Since I just recently uploaded them two days ago, I will wait at least one more day to see if it changes. Next, I don't know if it is just a slow thing or whatever you call it in the technical stuff, that it does not load or something else. Please share your thoughts or knowledge, I will appreciate it, thanks.
  10. Hi Joe, I am a beginner in selling vectors, and so far I have not experienced any "save" problems in keywords, captions etc. However, I constantly check my images (vectors), as one of them show it is "On Sale", while the others don't. Yet, they all passed the quality control process, and show a "green bar", which has a status of "good discoverability". Finally, it seems to me that whether you are selling photography or illustrations (vectors), it is about either a technical issue from Alamy's system (most likely), or somehow your local system is not functioning right. However, I am not an expert or professional, so you may want to contact Alamy.
  11. Hi everyone Sorry to ask another question. Do I Need to Submit My Three Vectors by Clicking on the "Upload" button on the top left from Alamy Image Manager? I already uploaded them through FTP FileZilla inside the "Vectors Folder", and was a success. They have a "passed" status on Alamy Image Manager. I went on and clicked on the "Upload" button and submitted one image, should I be concerned? My original three images still show up, so I guess I don't need to worry, but must I still do something, or leave it alone, thank you. Regards, Javier
  12. Hi, Alamy Administrator, thank you for taking the time to answer my question, very kind and attentive of you Regards, Javier
  13. Hi everyone, I have already successfully transferred and uploaded all my Adobe Illustrator CC 2019 files through FileZilla. Next, Under "Captions and tags for vectors on Alamy" Step 2 instructs "Use Alamy Image Manager in My Alamy (after we’ve processed your submission)". Does this mean that I should wait until Alamy's quality control, or can I immediately proceed to this step? In other words, does Alamy check my vectors right after I upload them through FileZilla, or after I complete step 2? Your help would be much appreciated. Regards, Javier
  14. Hi imageplotter thank you for your advice, it is very helpful, and although I am usually very cautious about any technical issues, I don't think I have anything to loose, besides, FileZilla is a free software, so I will give it a try. Regards, Javier
  15. Hi Everyone I would like to know exactly what to do with the "Insecure FTP Connection" message, every time I try to use Quickconnect in FileZilla? I tried to double-check my login credentials and seem to be fine, however, I am trying to decide whether to "Refresh" or "Reconnect" with the server. There are other people saying that the best solution is to open the "Site Manager" and click on new site, yet I read that it only applies for those who purchase FileZilla, and that they should have information in their e-mail, regarding the issue. I downloaded FileZilla for free, as it is a free software/program/etc. I don't understand what is going on, I used to use FileZilla for free back in 2014 when I had my first multimedia (now digital media) course, and it went quite well. The current FileZilla I am using is FileZilla Client 3.41.2 I see their is an updated 3.42.2, should I update it? What should I do? What are your suggestions? Thanks. Sincerely, Javier
