  1. Eleven Alamy slide show images in a new story at Huffington Post, which hopefully means HuffPo is back to being a regular buyer. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/29/next-generation-science-standards_n_3672418.html?ncid=txtlnkushpmg00000037
  2. You all know you can have a private conversation on any topic using the Personal Messenger, do you not?
  3. Physical Education. My father was a high school PE coach. A natural fit since he finished up his WWII service as a US Army drill instructor.
  4. Good catch. The $180 two page spread deals are nice but mine have decreased over the last few months. And, I've been doing this long enough to remember them being $500 and up.
  5. http://share.pdfonline.com/deb15f14606a4e04803ba13860d39a70/IY00429569_A.htm Now you have. Looks like I share it with Jeff G and my local competitor Kim K. Found it by googling my name/Alamy.
  6. Me too. And I'd like the screen to explode with fireworks, and maybe some stirring music too. Maybe 'Money, Money, Money', by Abba... Agreed, except I'll take Pink Floyd's "Money."
  7. Goodreader is an app that sort of acts like a central file manager for iPad, which it lacks.. You can sync documents with your computer, email files, download files from the web or online servers like Dropbox. I keep the brochure PDFs for my biotech business on it. Well worth the small purchase price.
  8. Hmm, I could have sworn it was on the unsuitable list a few months back. At any rate, I tried one. I didn't find the image quality to be where it needs to be for Alamy and I have Canon G10 images on file. The other issue for me was the 4:3 format and 12 megapixels. Cropping to 3:2 loses too much pixel real estate. Other than these items, it's a really well designed camera and easy to use. I sold it online and only lost a bit of $$.
  9. A fish boil in Door County Wisconsin.
  10. I was thinking the same thing. And in my neck of the woods green clouds can mean a trip to the basement and hoping your house is still there when you come back up.
  11. Reminds me of the warning in the manual for an old waterproof Canon film point and shoot: Do not change film underwater.
  12. I agree, and didn't mean to make light of it. My neighbor, Howard Simmons is an ex Sun-Times photographer and is friends with John White.
  13. I've had several sales this month. Unfortunately all but one are the $29 HuffPost special. The remainder wasn't for much more and was a distributer sale and so netted less than the HP sales.
  14. Wow. And close to what's happening in these parts right now.
  15. Thanks to all for the kind compliments. Interesting day. I just uploaded five photos of an incident that occurred just a block south of my home to Alamy News. Not sure I should post a direct link as a few are graphic (blood), so be forewarned if you go have a look. Perhaps it's time to move to the country.
  16. http://my.chicagotribune.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-76108005/ But perhaps they'll use Live News?
  17. http://fineartamerica.com/saleannouncement.html?id=99ccbd49a30f19c2fe5cbc03ecc680b7 Now if I could do this several times a month, I'd be a happy camper.
  18. Where is there info about Time Machine and high volume backups? I did a full backup and restore of my MB Air due to a Windows (Bootcamp) partition glitch with no problem.
  19. Why not just use OSX's built in Time Machine backup? It does exactly what you want. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427
  20. I usually come here directly. Just pointing it out.
