  1. Can anybody tell me why my images looked squashed?
  2. Thank you, John... can`t wait for dryer weather.. but, we must be careful what we wish for... some of my shrubs suffered through the summer because of not enough moisture... now we have the rain and I`m complaining.. I don`t think it`s the wetness, but the chilliness that makes me averse to going outside. Good tip.. must remember the different spellings.
  3. I received my first payment.. was pleasantly surprised.

  6. I meant to say, I plan on only keeping two or three shots of each subject "and eliminating the rest" regardless of how in focus my subject is. :)
  7. Up until lately, I`ve been a very lazy cataloger. I saved everything. I quickly scanned my shoot for that day and picked a few for developing, then went out the next day and did the same thing. This was before I got into stock and was only uploading to a POD. This has been going on for 10 years... Now I find myself in the position of going back over all my horrid shots and eliminating them once and for all and hopefully finding a few gems that I hadn`t even looked at before. I`m looking forward to getting a new camera, so want to clean up the archives... it`s a daunting task, but I plan to

  9. Betty, your question got me thinking about my own negatives and slides so did some digging and found this website... really easy to understand... and in answer to your 4000 dpi question the answer is yes. One day I hope to scan all my archived (read stored in a shoe box) slides and negatives. https://howtoscan.ca/scanning-tips/best-slide-scan-resolution.php

  14. I was about to comment earlier when I go called away... I was going to say I use Fine Art America (Pixels.com) and have been there for a number of years with business starting to pick up. I just received notice of a small sale there a few days ago and membership is very reasonable. On average I get 5-6 sales a year and do very little self-promotion. I`m in the process of updating some of my older work there as well as enlarging my portfolio here on Alamy. https://sharon-talson.pixels.com
  15. I love to see $$$`s coming through... hope to see one myself one day!
  16. Thanks John... I sometimes feel my neighbourhood is boring, but as you say, it`s a matter of keeping your eyes open.
