  1. I like paying via an App (or Phone)...... what I don't like is being charged extra for the privilege, and the council calling it a "Convenience Charge"!
  2. Another sale - I now have reached last years total number of sales - and am slightly up on last years revenue already 🙂 Low $$$ Magazine - print, digital and electronic; Print run: 25,000; Duration: 1 month; UK Edition & Worldwide Licensees
  3. I can remember all my old cars..... ...... but when I get to those stupid ticket machines that insist on entering your reg number, I can't remember the number plate of the car I'm driving! (Lucky I have a couple of photos on my phone!)
  4. 😞 Thats not very good! But then - from a company point of view - In the year the sale was made you did receive income, and pay the taxes This year, the refund will reduce your revenue, and your taxes will be less for this year. If the refund had VAT - then the VAT should also be refunded - so you shouldn't have to "reclaim" anything - just include it in this years figures.. Jools
  5. I assume this wouldn't have gone through your company accounts From my company point of view the invoice is generated (self generated by Alamy) when they make the Royalty payment to my company - so you get a maximum of one invoice per month. You only get the royalty payment when there are cleared funds, so a "sold" image, which never clears would not show as a sale through my company accounts. Julian
  6. Still works for older cars - I just tried entering the reg "1RAC" and it came back with 1RAC SIMMS SALOON Check another vehicle ColourMaroon Fuel typePetrol Date registered31 December 1900 MOT expired on28 October 2015
  7. I think it was - or is based on a Bathing machine - A victorian contraption that you would get changed in - and could be pushed down to the waters edge https://www.alamy.com/search.html?CreativeOn=1&adv=1&ag=0&all=1&creative=&et=0x000000000000000000000&vp=0&loc=0&qt=bathing machine&qn=&lic=6&lic=1&imgt=0&archive=1&dtfr=&dtto=&hc=&selectdate=&size=0xFF&aqt=&epqt=&oqt=&nqt=&gtype=0&pn=1&ps=100&qt_raw=bathing machine&pl=#BHM=foo%3Dbar%26st%3D0%26pn%3D1%26ps%3D100%26sortby%3D2%26qt%3Dbathing%20machine%26qt_raw%3Dbathing%20machine%26qn%3D%26lic%3D3%26edrf%3D0%26mr%3D0%26pr%3D0%26aoa%3D1%26creative%3D%26videos%3D%26nu%3D%26ccc%3D%26bespoke%3D%26apalib%3D%26ag%3D0%26hc%3D0%26et%3D0x000000000000000000000%26vp%3D0%26loc%3D0%26ot%3D0%26imgt%3D0%26dtfr%3D%26dtto%3D%26size%3D0xFF%26blackwhite%3D%26cutout%3D%26archive%3D1%26name%3D%26groupid%3D%26pseudoid%3D{FB12AABA-5991-4673-90B8-A33815DE78F9}%26userid%3D%26id%3D%26a%3D%26xstx%3D0%26cbstore%3D1%26resultview%3DsortbyPopular%26lightbox%3D%26gname%3D%26gtype%3D%26apalic%3D%26tbar%3D1%26pc%3D%26simid%3D%26cap%3D1%26customgeoip%3DGB%26vd%3D0%26cid%3D%26pe%3D%26so%3D%26lb%3D%26pl%3D%26plno%3D%26fi%3D0%26langcode%3Den%26upl%3D0%26cufr%3D%26cuto%3D%26howler%3D%26cvrem%3D0%26cvtype%3D0%26cvloc%3D0%26cl%3D0%26upfr%3D%26upto%3D%26primcat%3D%26seccat%3D%26cvcategory%3D*%26restriction%3D%26random%3D%26ispremium%3D1%26flip%3D0%26contributorqt%3D%26plgalleryno%3D%26plpublic%3D0%26viewaspublic%3D0%26isplcurate%3D0%26imageurl%3D%26saveQry%3D%26editorial%3D%26t%3D0%26edoptin%3D%26filters%3D0
  8. A quick selfie as I BBQ'ed tea! - Great to be able to be back out in the camper van! (RX100 - with the grass being the tripod!)
  9. An image taken at the first event I covered especially for "Live News" last year. I didn't sell any at the time - there were a number of press photographers from the local rag at the press night.... But definitely worth getting a few headshots! I suspect it was used in an article regarding Plymouth Theatre Royal - they announced that there were going to be redundancies as shows are cancelled. 10. Just found a usage of my Sidmouth image in The Sun - from July 7th Also an Alamy News image from Paignton (not mine!) https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/12058851/uks-holiday-hotspots-hit-coronavirus-second-wave/
  11. You could also request access to "reportage" and upload your images there. They are immediately available for sale - If you have captioned and tagged them..... and do not pass through QC. They are not included in the Live News Feed - but if you think its really newsworthy, I would drop the news team an email to notify them.
  12. Nope - Its a Citroen Mehari! based on the Ciroen 2cv and Dyanne https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citroën_Méhari
  13. 2 sales popped in at the end of the month - both from the same news set, and, I think, used in a Metro online article. Both low $$ Jools
  14. Getting ready to welcome to tourists back!
  15. If I have covered an event - I create a Lightbox of my images, and then send that to the PR team https://www.alamy.com/search/lightbox/4081625.html
  16. I'm still confused with this!! Items I have submitted via stock are mostly listed as RF, Items I have submitted as Live News are RM...... But...... Most of the images that have been sold - although I have them listed as RF, seem to have been sold with a RM licence When I chack my sales history, all of my sales have "Licence = Royalty Free" (apart from one which was listed as RM) But the "Details" vary a few examples This one does look like it really is Royalty Free 86 MB 4480 x 6720 pixels 2 MB compressed All media, worldwide, in perpetuity, including in-context promos. Sold for $$$ From the "details" This one looks more like a RM licence 7 MB 1260 x 1890 pixels One use in a single editorial article used within web versions of titles from the same group. Digital usage includes archive rights for the lifetime of the article. Country: United Kingdom This was sold for $, and used in a Guardian web article Again another one that looks more like a RM licence Usage: Single company, editorial magazine, print and or web, multiple use 5 years This was $$ used in a magazine. To me, it looks like if you have listed your images as RM - Then they are only listed and sold as RM If you have them listed as RF - Then the purchaser can either buy them as RM with restrictions, or as RF Cheers Jools
  17. Hi John I signed up with Pixieset when I photographed my sisters wedding - I had agreed to photograph the wedding and provide her with an hardcopy album. I uploaded all the images to Pixieset - She could then "Favourite" the ones she liked - and I used her choices to design the album layout. She could share the images (low res with watermark) on Facebook and with her friends. I then received a number of orders for prints - from people that I would not have known about! So That worked well. If I'm doing a paid shoot then I create a gallery, and send the client a link, and a PIN - They can then download the high res images, and do what they like. If I'm doing a non-paid shoot, maybe an event - then I try and find any companies involved, and send them the link - If they want the hi-res images, then they have to pay per image. The galleries can be private or public - the public ones appear under "client" on the website. In total I have 1415 uploaded - Its a different mix to my Alamy portfolio. For an event, I may upload a few to Alamy, but the full set to Pixieset. Plus there is a lot of stock images that I upload to Alamy, that don't go on Pixieset. So - The sales are more targeted to specific groups, rather than being bought by general public. Hope that helps Jools
  18. I use Pixieset.... There is a free plan - you can upload 3Gb of photos, and there is a 15% commission on sales - but the free plan is not a time limited trial..... (Bonus of 250Mb storage for signing up through my link 🙂 - https://pixieset.com/ref/MVylLNmbyr ) or you can pay to upgrade the limits and have commission free sales - you set the prices for your customer. Printing is handled by Loxley Colour in Glasgow. I've used them for photo prints, wedding albums and canvas prints - so there are a lot of options. I also use their "Free" website - limited to 15 pages, 100 photos - or you can have a paid plan that has unlimited pages/photos www.kempdigital.co.uk Cheers Jools
  19. I've had an image used in the Guardian reused on several sites - with the same text..... All have copied the image and re-hosted it. Will check with Alamy once lockdown is over - and then will ask CopyTrack to see see if they can pursue. (They are all outside UK/US which I think are the main countries Alamy chase)
  20. and I see we also have "The Original One"...... guess who!
  21. The Alamy home page has had a bit of a makeover! New "My Account" dropdown and options.... although the contributor pages once you click on them are all the same. Julian
  22. My first "Personal Use"! Taken at the World Pasty Championships, and submitted as part of a "Live News" submission - The only sale so far out of the set!
  23. Low $ - and a distributor sale 😞 "Croatia, Editorial website, Bulk Discount, Flat Rate"
