  1. I much prefer the touchpad; with a mouse you have to move one hand back and forth between the keyboard and the mouse, whereas with the touchpad both your hands can stay where they are.
  2. I use a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2,9 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GM RAM), which works fine with Lightroom (8.0 / Classic CC). The only issue's I've had are with the keyboard (1st generation), which I've already had replaced once and need to have replaced again. So if you get MacBook, make sure you get the latest model with the latest generation of the keyboard – I don't remember if it's 3rd or 4th – which is supposed to have fewer issues with keys getting stuck, etc.
  3. I wrote and asked Alamy – just wanted to be sure before uploading any such images myself – and got a similar reply: "By signing up to Alamy, you warrant that the images you upload are either your copyright, that you have the correct permissions to upload the images, or that the images are free of copyright."
  4. How does this work copyright-wise? What are the requirements for "found" images if you want to sell them on Alamy?
  5. Low $$ Country: Worldwide Usage: Editorial Media: Newspaper - national [South China Morning Post apparently] Print run: up to 100,000
  6. How does it work copyright-wise with images of printed matter such as posters, flyers, etc. (no context, just the thing itself)? I've noticed several posts about sales of such images.
  7. Found my own photo of a hole in a wall in Fukuyama, Japan, used as an illustration for a bank robbery story.
  8. I contacted their support and made another attempt. This time it went reasonably well; most of my Lightroom catalogue made the transfer. But my impression so far is that it's no replacement for Lightroom; searching is incredibly slow, and it's unable to handle large amounts of keywords. Though it does have editing features that Lightroom doesn't. I have yet to try out its tethering capabilities properly.
  9. I've been curious about Capture One Pro and decided to try the demo. While importing my Lightroom catalogue, it used up all available memory (RAM) so that my computer became unresponsive and I had to turn it off. After deleting the partly imported Lightroom catalogue and the images in it from the Capture One Pro catalogue, I tried to empty the trash in Capture One Pro to get rid of the previews; this caused Capture One Pro to become unresponsive and I had to use 'Force Quit' to close it. I tried several times, each time with the same result. Finally, I ended up deleting the whole thing from my

  11. Quite a few of the photos posted in the "Images sold in …" threads have no humans in them though.
  12. Regarding zooms – what counts as a zoom? If I view another contributor's photos, will that count?
  13. I'm not sure about the UK, but a distinction appears to be made in the US, for instance. And in Denmark too where illegal copying is not punished as theft but as infringement.
  14. Does that really happen – people buying a photo thinking they're buying what is in the photo?
  15. Thanks! I did a search first, but didn't find anything really relevant.
