  1. In the Blog section: https://www.alamy.com/blog/new-contributor-commission-structure
  2. Yet another cut in commission for us. Pathetic ALAMY. Pathetic.
  3. Iain, just a question out of interest. Did you have to make sure that the cladding photographed in the hazardous one, or this is a generic building to illustrate the story? Thank you
  4. This is getting really frustrating. Few times already in last few months i am getting a Personal Use sale, which is being refunded few days later. This being for personal use, presentations etc. there is no way for me / or Alamy to track its usage, making it extremely easy for dishonest ones to abuse the system. Country: WorldwideUsage: Presentation or newsletters, Use in a presentation/talk (eg,Powerpoint and Keynote) or in a newsletter.Start: 05 January 2021End: 05 January 2026 Sale refunded - Original sale date (21 January 2021) Did any of you exper
  5. Hi Is there a way of extracting some stats from Alamy to find out the for example my best sellers etc? Thank you
  6. You were spot on! Turned out that my window was at 90% view. When enlarged to 100% all panels are visible. Thank you and the others for input.
  7. Hi I just realised - after now visiting Alamy Image manager for a while - that the whole right side of the Image Manager does not show up when using Chrome. Fine in MS Edge, but Chrome, which has always worked for me does not show anything now. Is it just me or something has changed globally? Thank you
  8. Allan can you talk me through this? $250.000 income divided by 6000 images sold is $42 per image, or $250.000 income divided by 26000 images in the portfolio is nearly $10 per image. How did you arrive at $1/image?
  9. Ok so the estimate from you guys is actually quite a bit lower than I got. Looks like my expectations were too high. It sold for just under $40 and first I thought "oh that'sa nice sale" until I noticed a 5 year period! I understand a sale of $5 for a single online article , but effectively less that $10/year for all online commercial use? Considering this, I may now give up tracking the use of this image for the next 5 years.
  10. Hi, I just got a sale for usage which is not typical to my portfolio. Probably the first of this kind, and the sale price surprised my (not saying if positively or negatively). What range (£, ££, £££) would you say one could expect from usage as follows? I will reveal the range later. Country: WorldwideUsage: Commercial electronic, Websites, apps, social media and blogs (excludes advertising). Worldwide for 5 years.Media: Website, app and social mediaImage Size: Any sizeStart: 03 February 2020End: 03 February 2025 Thanks
  11. Thank you @SShep Is there any chance you could post an image/scan of the page here? (long shot I now). Thank you again.
  12. I am confused. The balance already zeroed yesterday saying I will be payed on 02 January, but even more unusual the balance came back in tonight saying I will be paid 01 February! May change yet again by the time I post it 😕 Anyone knows what is going on?
  13. Oh my dear, I have seen this topic since it appeared but thought it was some "soft" news, until it gathered 5 pages of comments and I decided to look at it. Devastated for him and his family. How fragile our lives are. Very very sad.
  14. I am not going to say or write anything new, but I am annoyed more and more as I am coming to realization that Alamy is probably not that special. What I mean by that is that most people say Alamy has higher fees/prices, and when you look at your sales it really does look like this. Just yesterday sold a bog standard editorial image for $20. Nice, not much but still several times more than microstock. And this is exactly where I think the misleading perception of Alamy's superiority comes from (especially for UK users). The fees shown on Dashboard are gross which makes us feel we got more than
  15. Hi I used to fill all the info in the Optional tab in AIM, but recently do this less and less to the point where my last several submissions I have not touched the Optional tab. What is your experience? Do you always do this? Do you know of / noticed any effect of filling it in / not filling it in?
  16. Hi i will be upgrading from sony nex6 to a6000 as all i need for photos is better autofocus. However, i am thinking about producing some stock footage. Will a6000 be enough to get through the quality control? Thanks
  17. Let's agree to disagree. My portfolio comprises mostly editorial, where effort is minimal, and I have the same camera since 2012. Let's not exaggerate the time and money spent on our images.
  18. You are right, it would surprise me. There is always an effort, and so called "final click" is only the final stage of monetizing the extensive period of hard effort. This is not to say that effore is always rewarded, as you pointed out, but there is no money without effort - unless you won Lotto or inherited money.
