  1. Hi all, Can anyone identify these for me? I have searched online and I think I have got some of them by checking other images online but correct/exact identification would be great! I'm not sure if the aircraft are all the same, but I have them as L-4 Grasshoppers and Piper J-3 cubs. Thanks!
  2. I am not (yet) a large contributor, but my first sale was when I had around 150 images, after less than 3 months. I've only ever had 2 sales, however.
  3. I don't have many images here yet, but I have already made 2 sales, which was probably more due to luck than anything! As expected, since then I have not made any further sales as of yet. My question is: do sales get affected by how active your account is? In other words, do you have to keep adding images to get more exposure or are search results not affected by your account activity? Theoretically, if you uploaded "the best" image of a particular subject, would it continue selling or would it get relegated to the bottom of search results as time goes by? Thanks
  4. Do sales report more than once a day? I had the impression that it was once a day only, much like the zooms/Alamy measures.
  5. Only my second sale here, this time for a smaller amount. Worldwide usage: Presentation or newsletter
  6. My first image sold here! With a relatively small number of images and just under 3 months of contribution here, I'm fairly pleased with this sale! Hopefully there will be many more to come.
  7. Is there somewhere that explains in more details the text in the 'Details' box for sold images? I have had my first sale and the text reads: Usage: iQ sale: Ad and design. Marketing Package Use. Internal and external marketing communications. Excludes advertising. Repeat use within the terms of the license In this example what does iQ stand for? I'm assuming there will be other initialisms for other types of sales (e.g. PU for Personal Use), so are they written somewhere? Thanks
  8. Hi Anna, yes, it should be. I have submitted photos using Samsung S7 and all have been accepted. It will depend on the actual photo (lighting, sharpness, focus, etc) for it to fail. Regards Victor
  9. Thanks Jill. Irrelevant tags bring down your ctr, it's this because you'd have more views but no zooms?
  10. Thanks, so just so I understand it right, in the example above if we take the second row, does that meant that: They searched for 'sun studio Memphis', looked at 100 images and zoomed twice. Out of those 2 were your images and one of the zooms was for one of your images?
  11. From your experience, how many pages do you think buyers flip through before they buy an image? Do they ever go past the first 2 or 3 pages for topics that have a few thousand images? In other words, how do I bring my images from, say, page 12 to the first few pages? I'm guessing there is no simple answer and maybe some might not want to give their 'secrets' away? Any help is much appreciated, I'm yet to make any sales here (I realise I only have a small number of images at the moment which probably doesn't help.) Thanks
  12. Thanks for taking the time to have a look. I'll search for the horse breed. Good tip about black and white.
  13. Hi I'm new to Alamy and haven't made any sales yet, I've only recently started uploading. I believe I understand what I would need to do to increase my chances of getting sales through here, but I wonder if you guys could have a look at my current portfolio to see if I'm going in the right direction in terms of tagging, captioning, etc? So far the part I struggle with the most when uploading is choosing the relevant categories, as they're very limited in numbers. Any thoughts? Thanks
  14. Hi, I'm new to Alamy and haven't made any sales yet () so I have no idea how successful my tagging is, but one thing I found helps is: First I tag with as many words/phrases I can think of using similar ideas as the ones already mentioned. Then I look at other similar images online (on alamy and other stock sites) and see if there are any 'good' tags I missed Finally, depending on the subject, I also search on Wikipedia/other relevant site to see if there are key words that I may not have thought of. Hope this helps. Thanks
