I meant Google image search. My browser has a right-click GIS add-on .

Obviously you can't find print-only sales- that's what the "have you found" thread is for.

Try Press Reader. You can get all national newspapers in print form except The Sun and The Times. And amazingly I can access press reader for free through Edinburgh City Libraries. Other libraries may do the same.

Many thanks Bryan! The second one is in print, too.

  3. On your Dashboard, click on 'Measures', then 'Your Images' and you can search by date to see which of your images turned up when particular search terms were used. It is updated daily except at weekends. You will see what search terms was used for any images that were zoomed, too, and how many images were viewed and zoomed in total. If, for example, only one image was zoomed and it was yours, you can keep your fingers crossed that it may result in a sale. You can also spot images which may have inappropriate tags.

If you've been a contributor for 10 years, have you never seen it?

It’s a useful search. Found a few book uses. I also found a photo of mine being offered for sale on another website site in Brazil. Is this an Alamy distributor (I can’t find the list of them)?

Thanks for that spot. The Observer used it a while ago; hopefully it’s a new sale.

  7. I have as many images as you and the majority are RM. I tend only to make the nature ones RF as there are so many of the same subject. However I get a decent number of stock (as opposed to news) sales so I’m not sure it makes much difference. Whether the difference is more to do with being based in the USA or the UK... I don’t know.

There are so many factors that can make a difference to sales that it’s impossible to say if one makes a difference. Subject matter, keywording, photo quality etc and I suspect these factors are more important than whether an image is RF or RM.

  8. Not an easy topic, but here are my offerings.

On Boxing Day Lee Craigie - the Scottish cycling Tsar as she has been dubbed - set off to cycle from Edinburgh to Copenhagen by New Years Eve on a cargo bike to highlight sustainable travel. She just made it, taking turns with her partner.

Hi Sally, yes I've got no doubt that it will sell, but I always thought it would fall foul of the "edited to change the reality" rules, and therefor unacceptable to reporting and live news? Apparently not I suppose is the answer.

I guess editing to change the reality (eg removing an object from an image) is different from the creative work of a composite image for which the editing is transparent.

Thanks very much Bryan. In fact that photo was taken on a Scottish Alamy outing and the man pictured is a well-known Alamy contributor ūüėČ
