  1. I started end of may 2013 and had my first sale in July, so a bit more than a month after my first successful submissions... by then I had 178 photos online. The next sale was January the following year.
  2. From my experience even if you submit your live news pix in different batches, they will be merged... as I use the same caption for all images of the same event. I usually send a few images as soon as they have been processed in LR and then sometimes add a few, if I feel they add to the story. As said a few minutes later they are merged with the first submission. This is imho the way it should be as I don’t believe having several batches will benefit myself or Alamy...
  3. Thank you all for your replies!!! Very usefull. On average how much time between dust removals?
  4. Thx Stan! Good point my D3 and D700 where indeed nightmares, I thought the D750 would be much better... will bring it for service...
  5. Thx spacecadet... Should I be brave for this specific brand or all similar solutions?
  6. What do you regarding dust on the sensor of your camera? Removing dust from photos my biggest pain in the processing of photos... I'm using a Nikon D750 and have a huge amount of dust spots on my photos... (I did changed lenses to check...)... The dust removal obviously isn't enough in my case... 1) use a kit 2) use compressed air 3) regularly bring for service ... ? Thanks for your input
  7. Thx for your reply! Did exactly that, but the button show missing folders is greyed out...
  8. Today, working on my website, noticed that several folders where missing in my Lightrrom library... the folders are still on my hard drives though (had a stressfull 15 minutes there...) Did I accidentaly deleted the folders from LR or is it a bug? Did it happen to anybody else? In my case it is about different folders by date (a folder per day) spanning several months? Win 10, latest version of LR Classic CC With so many recent updates of LR in the past months, I’m starting to wonder if my library wasn’t corrupted... as said might be my mistake...
  9. Down :-( 4 last months actually 50% less than average of 2017! Last 12 months around 30% less than past 12 months... ...
  10. If I should break down time working on pictures, removing spots is the most time consuming and captioning/keywording. I have just two presets for stock photos... and import with one of them and usually tweak exposure and crop/rotate if needed... So, in my case it would’t matter much, timewise... jpeg’s do have the advantage of taking less space on the HD... was in Paris a few weeks ago 1500 pictures x 20mb/file... independence day last week another 1500 shots!!! Was also thinking about switching to jpeg for at least more casual things in decent light...
  11. Yep, the mirroring is indeed to fool the search engines... Wanted to fill in the form, but because it is some kind of blog/personal page... Alamy will probably not do anything... really a shame as the whole site is one big infringment...
  12. Thanks Wim, I'm aware. Was sharing this as others are also involved... Greetings, Michael
  13. Found the following infringmentS (with a big S!): http://comoserguapa.com/delicat-jardin-du-louvre-lens-modele/delicat-jardin-du-louvre-lens-concernant-louvre-lens-stock-photos-louvre-lens-stock-images-alamy-idees-images/ Plenty of Alamy images used here, including a few of mine... I already send a mail to contributors@alamy...
  14. There was an interesting thread about keywording: https://discussion.alamy.com/topic/8477-keywording-in-lightroom-anyone-else-frustrated/ Besides keywording, I would also like to see some power functions in exif editing as well: appending to captions, titles... merging fields to create captions etc...
  15. Very useful! Thanks Justin! Adobe has indeed been improving LR quit a bit the last few months! I hope they will also improve keywording, which is an essential part of developing photos for us...
  16. Last friday had do some shopping.... decided to bring my camera along.. Among the things I photographed is a beautiful building here in Tel Aviv, some kind of neo-colonial architecture... This week-end decided to process the photos and found some spots on the ground... they where 3 dollar bills...
  17. I kept stats of my views and zooms for the past 2+ years and don’t see a link between sales and views/zooms... I do see a link between number of images available and sales though...
  18. It’s an extremly complicated subject and not being a lawyer... Precisely for the Tate I don’t know But from what I understand you have a few things to take into consideration: - the building was renovated/converted to a museum by Swiss architects Herzog & De Meuron - and they have intellectual rights on their design - artwork inside the building can also be intellectual property - the exhibition design can also... - even graphic design in and outside the museum is copyrighted... - photographing people can also be problematic At best imho you can sell the pictures as editorial? I got a mail a while from Alamy regarding photos I took from the grande arche de la defense in Paris. A company that owns the intellectual rights (the architect is deceased) asked to add to the caption the copyright of the architect. No problem with that, on the contrary! Since then I decided to add the designer/architect... where relevant.
  19. Yes! Photographed in the past and some nice ones last friday! I have uploaded previous ones on Alamy and recently got a mail that Alamy will set as Editotorial. I’m ok with this. The artists that did this graffitis got an authorisation of the city and owners of the properties... They were made during events, in which artists where invited... here I can perfectly undertand the rights of the artists! For illegal graffitis - vandalisme - I don’t really understand how an individual can claim he has intellectual rights??? Obviously, it’s not always clear if it’s vandalisme or not... Anyway, if Alamy thinks its better to set them as editorial, no problem here!
  20. - first sale on a week-end! + it’s a picture I shot recently, end of december - first book cover - credited but the sale didn’t appear yet on Alamy - not sure if it qualifies as positive result, but had a 100 CTR: 1 view/1 zoom ;-) - one sale, this month, that equals a typical month - even though it is through a distributor... crossing my fingers that I won’t get the typical refund thing... Gives a bit of hope after a lousy november and january!!!
