  1. Hi Jacob, keep your eyes open and you will see the photographics opportunities all the time.Observe the shadows, the lights, the weather, walk around to get more interesting foreground, think about the elements of the image interacting with each other, but, most important, have fun! With all respect, Alexandre. I know you mean well, but the above is splendid advice you could give to a hobbyist in a photography club. But if you have to give it here - in a stock agency selling pictures to the professional market - then that clearly means that person steps into this business way too soo
  2. Wawa views is the number of times an image is displayed to a user after a search. A Zoom is when a user clicks to see an image in more detail. If you look at your stats you will find lots if views and a few zooms. CTR is the ratio between views and zooms.

  4. About item 1 I think the reason for uploading a newer image should be if you are adding something to the table. A different angle, a special light in the sky, stormy weather, a rainbow, a newer camera with more resolution, But not only because of the date,
  5. He may have bought from you. Sales usually don't show up for about 3 months from when they are actually used. Jill I deffinitelly hope so Jill
  6. Just updating my stats I now have 1036 views and 9 zooms As Armstrong suggested I checked and some of my zooms came from the same session. The way I see it, it means this user was particularly interested in the subject, he took the time to check 2 of my images, but didnt buy it from me (don´t know if he bought it from somebody else). Enough of stats, good night!
  7. It seems to me it is a way to tell the customer he shouldnt bother looking for it somewhere else. Its also better if your image is unathorizedly copied to prove the thief didnt pay fir it Other than that, I dont know
  8. Hi Alberto Welcome to Alamy!
  9. skylineboy, I took the liberty to look at your portfolio. I see sets of images of cars, they are similar if you will, because they are the same car with the same background, but different angles, I think the buyers will like that, so they can actually purchase the photo that is perfect for what he needs. There are some exceptions, though, images E5CFTN and E5CFJW, either they are the same image you uploaded twice or I would definitely consider those similars. E3N721, E3N722 and E3N725 I would consider also E3N73G, E3N73J and E3N73K same thing. DF2DF7 and DF2E4 are almost the same. I thin
  10. Hi, welcome to Alamy! You live in a wonderful place!
  11. Hi welcome to this non microstock agency!
  12. The best camera is the one you have it with you... But, seriously, I am always photographing with my eyes, if I see something nice, I might try to go back and take it in another day. But, so many magical moments are lost... I used to work in a building by the river, many times when driving back home, the sunset light would fall on the modern buildings along the river, as I said, magic moments.
  13. It is my first full month here, yet to see some sales, hopefully April brings some to me. Best luck to you guys.
  14. Everything I submitted between the 26th and the 31st just passed by, I will have a long weekend keywording all that stuff.
  15. I am waiting for images I uploaded since the 25th, for sure they have a lot of work to do and the queue is probably a bit long.
  16. Hi Stargazer, welcome to DT! One possible thing to do is sometimes downsize your images if you are not getting them tack sharp at full resolution. You can still have fantastic images even downsizing a lot with your D800. Specially for noisy images when you need to use higher ISO in places where tripods are not allowed with little light, you can still have pretty nice 8 or 10Mpixels images. But if you don´t like the camera, than move one, (buy a Canon ! ), I mean, buy something you like and have fun!
  17. In my other agency they created a flag system, the users would earn I think 1 cent for each flag. This lead to tons of spammy flags, very time consuming to everyone. I had images of the Eiffel Tower flagged for the word Paris so you have an idea. I am not against the flag system, but it has to be well thought so it add up and dont become a nightmare for everyone.
  18. Sharp is considering the focus point, so an image is unsharp if there is movement either from the subject or the photographer, bad lens, difraction or is not focused on the subject. The use of less or more DOF must be a conscient decision, if you want everything in focus or if you want emphasize one plane against the others, but wont be rejected unless you are not making the right decision, so, using high DOF in portraits with distracting backgrounds or low DOF in images with important multiple planes.
  19. Sorry about that Ed Rooney, my fault, I pulled this thread back to life before I found the other one. Anyway, I am uploading my new images as Adobe RGB and will check how they look here afterwards.
