  1. I seem to remember signing up for DACS via Alamy a few years ago . It has been ages since I have received any notifications from DACS. How do I find out if I am still included in the DACS system?
  2. It took a while, but I stumbled onto the answer I was looking for. To recap, I wanted to locate a searched image (under Zooms/Sales Pseudonym Summary) in the original uploaded batch in order to apply changes to the other images in that batch. Just by chance, I enlarged the searched thumbnail and hey presto the uploaded date was there along with my file name and the Alamy ID!! I just had to search for the said date listed in the panel containing all the uploaded batches which are in date order - simples! Thanks to all for the useful replies, comments and
  3. Thanks wim, just followed your instructions and that does work well. Bit of a chore copying and pasting each image number but it is workable. Perhaps Alamy might come up with a Tip Note on each image showing its OL number??. (Pigs in flight come to mind!!). Cheers.
  4. Thanks, Spacecadet but not what I was referring to. I was searching via Alamy Measures / Your Images / Pseudonym (my name) / Search Item / then one of the links listed. The link opens all the images noted in the Your Views column. With the intention to refigure Tags etc, clicking on one image opens but the remainder close. Thereafter - see my previous. Pseudonym
  5. I have resorted to attempting to discover what might be the cause of a long period of No Sales. Many suggestions on the Forum as to why this is happening, but I thought I would research my own files by assessing my Summary and following the tips regarding number of Views against Zooms/Sales with the suggestions to amend Tags etc. Clicking on a link under Search Term I am directed to a series of images, unfortunately only one image is opened when selected as the remainder disappear. Amending, deleting or adding tags is possible but only for this one image. In order to carry out
  6. Also you have Derwentwater as a single word, but Derwent Water as separate words is also correct so include both. I looked at 'All of Alamy' and there are almost as many searches for Derwent Water as there are for Derwentwater, and you might be missing out on potential buyers seeing your image. It's also worth filling in the location in the Optional information. In general, you don't need so many keywords, but it's important to make them accurate and relevant or you'll get a lot of inappropriate views which will lower your CTR and potentially your rank. You mention adding
  7. I agree with comments on this subject. My method is to initially, add as many keywords as possible to suit the image content just by looking at it. Added to this I use the Synonym selection in a word document for suitable relevant alternatives to add. I save the document for the current upload. This gives me a back up for any future similar image content and also makes it easier to view what I have used before adding the keywords to the image(s). If stuck, I will google the image description to see if any pertinent clues are available (Wikipedia is a useful source). All this
  8. That worked thanks. Found a couple that were used, hope to see more if my sales get under way again one day!!
  9. Great image and a well deserved sale. I have had no sales nor zooms so far this month; still - there are a few days to go yet???
  10. Happened to me once, unfortunately one was soon refunded! Alamy will let you know if that is the case. As your payment differs in amounts you should be OK (mine was the same amount so I suspected an error)- but don't spend it all just yet||||
  11. Make sure the image is .jpg and the resolution is at the minimum required level. Double check against the Alamy instructions regarding image size etc.
  12. Thanks Betty, very helpful. I obviously missed the notification of the changes to this. I'll tuck them away in a folder as you suggest and hope to remember where they are should any be required. Regards. Dave.
  13. I have uploaded Model Release forms in the past but there doesn't seem to be a facility for this since my last upload. In the user guide (p21) an upload icon is shown but doesn't seem to be anywhere in the image details panels. Only link is to existing release forms in the "Assign Existing Release".
  14. Just started assessing this as a possible useful source for images either in my files or to consider for future shoots. I selected a couple of possibilities, however, when trying to re-locate my choices to revise them, there is no quick way to get to my selections, i.e. no link on the "pic needs covered by you". Probably find them eventually by scrolling down through the entire options list which is not very convenient and time consuming (I gave up on that being faced with over 4 thousand options!). The search field didn't help either. Any suggestions?
  15. For my key-wording I use the Synonyms drop down tool in Microsoft Word document. Firstly, I list all relevant keywords that I can think of which I enter into a word document. To increase the list of keywords and still keeping them relevant, right clicking on a word brings up additional options under the Synonym tab. There are also links there to the Thesaurus which can provide more possibilities. If still stuck, I'll do a search in Wikipedia for the subject, amazing the otherwise missed useful keywords that can be found there. However, best to use the "grey matter" in the first instanc
  16. Thanks for all the replies, I have an Alamy link set up on my web page, I wondered if there was a "Reverse" set up i.e Alamy to my web page, but I assume not (probably not a commercial possibility for Alamy?!). Thanks again.
  17. I am in the process of setting up a new website (via Clikpic). I can show a link on the link page to my Alamy page. Can I create a link on Alamy to my new Website, if so, how? Thanks.
  18. Having problems too, tried both systems and nothing being uploaded.
  19. I've recently renewed my acquaintance with Alamy now that I have more time to do so. I'm using the trial version of Keyword Perfect (as recommended by Alamy who have a promo code for it). Over the past couple of weeks I have used the software for key-wording and uploaded my images. The keyword generating seems fine to me as the keywords can be edited as you go if not happy with them. When happy, I Process the keywords to IPTC and also save as an Alamy worksheet ( I select the Alamy option in preferences). What I find frustrating is that the images having passed QC now need
