  6. So far, we're all three from different countries. Would that play a role? Cheers, Philippe Could be location has an effect, I have in the past gone to look at a particular image by ref number to return a page saying that it was not available. So really need some results from the same country for a definitive comparison. Phil
  7. Got 5,640 images. I can understand the differing 1st 3 images due to algorithm jiggery pokery, but not why differing number of images returned. D9FGB0 RM D9FR8Y RM B5PRRT RF Edit to add. That was with Creative tab, change to Relevant gives same images as Philippe.
  8. With the beat of his own solitary drum. Out on a solitary limb! In his own solitary space! Phil
  9. In my humble opinion...Putting an image as RM, stating no releases, is more than sufficient. Onus is on the publisher to ensure correct permissions are available, or, for them to ask the relevant person/corporation for permission to publish. Phil
  10. Not yesterday(Friday) when I was expecting some to pass....But this morning all gone through including some uploaded yesterday. Phil
  11. On a local level they help to get your name recognised, I've had press coverage and tons of social media due to being involved with local exhibitions and there ain't no such thing as bad publicity as someone once said! They also show that you're a serious professional photographer which helps to lift you above the 1000's of wannabe togs undercutting us professionals. All directly helps my bank balance Phil Might work for some, but fact is that many believe that you win a competition and invitations of prestigious agencies and assignments of famous magazines will be served on a silver platter. Most competitions are simply about getting great pictures ......... for free (read the competition rules in small print ). Cheers, Philippe Differs with Awards offered by professional organisations who respect the photographer. And, it's only those I enter. Phil

  14. If the images are RM, then I don't see how they can object as they could only be used commercially with permission from Barclays. Are Barclays going to risk even more bad publicity by suing Alamy over this? I doubt it. Phil
  15. Yes...Barclays. Had this from Image Management as mine is a shot of a museum piece! C4HH2E, and I suggested they reconsider their decision. "Hi Phil We realise it’s a contentious issue and isn’t always straight forward. We’ve sought legal advice in the past which is why our Terms and Conditions say we don’t accept logos. The real issue seems to be how much context there needs to be in an image. Barclay’s lawyers have a clear view and we’re taking legal advice to see if we share that view. In the meantime, while we review our policy and take further legal advice we’ll be leaving these off the site and we’ll be in touch to hopefully say we can put these back on sale. We’d like as many of your images on sale as we can. We don’t like deleting images but we have to act with caution. Thanks Asha Image Management"
  16. Lovely...Hands can be so expressive
  17. Just saw this good news: Adobe will revert some of the import dialog that was removed in the next update. Link: http://tinyurl.com/navkapz I'll wait to update till that comes out... Phil
