  5. It's an industry in turmoil for sure and changes are ongoing still ... hang on tight, the rough ride continues ... !
  6. Agree with you on this ... but what can be done .. just have to hope that maybe the whole micro system will implode as clients start to show a preference towards unique instead of cheap ! Maybe wishful thinking but nothing surprises me anymore ! I absolutely do not agree with culling images that have not sold in the last twelve months though ... I and many others have been adding for a long time and that adds up to a lot of work ... I would not be happy if these started being removed on that basis alone ! As an example, this image has just been licensed for the first time and was sho
  7. How about purging all of the collections imported from other agencies that have those same images on multiple agencies and instead promote the exclusive images that individual contributors have here and nowhere else ....
  8. Unfortunately, that was the unique USP at Alamy until, for reasons best known to themselves, they started to import complete collections from other agencies ....

Balquhidder, is one of several Stirlingshire beauty spots that witnessed increased visitors immediately before the coronavirus lockdown. There is now a sign at the entrance to the village asking people not to visit because of a lack of infrastructure and support, with, for example the nearest hospital being 40 miles away. The roads in the area were almost deserted this morning

  20. I don't use travel agents myself as I always book the flights and accommodation myself but I would have thought the same rules would apply regarding flights booked via a travel agency in that if your destination goes on lockdown or the airline cancels the flight, they will offer you an alternative flight at a later date at no extra cost or a full refund. I would contact your insurance company first as they will know the exact legal position and wether the travel agency is correct in charging you an extra fee or wether they are pulling a fast one in view of the disastrous season ahead ...
  21. I also started out using this scanner Bryan and also had to switch off the dust removal as it tended to remove minor details such as peoples nostrils as well as dust. It was ok for medium format and 35mm at a real pinch although that was back then, not so sure it would cut it nowadays. The Elicar lens I mentioned in an earlier post is very sharp and they can be picked up on E.Bay occasionally for a very reasonable price ... copying this way isn't the quickest but then it doesn't really need to be if being selective with the negs and slides to copy. As this lens is designed for full frame,
  22. That's correct Harry ... I copy negs and slides using a copy stand, light box, Fuji XT1 and 90mm Elicar 1:1 macro lens in Nikon fit via an adaptor ... so the RAW files are effectively the maximum size the Fuji can produce. The grain is often visible at 100 % and often a fair bit of spotting is required ... but I feel it's worth doing properly and uploading via QC ... who, it has to be said, are switched on and can see that the file has come from film and they make allowances for that ... with the best will in the world, an original film image will not be as sharp as a digitally produced origin
