  3. Travelling through the desert in Israel with a small group when the driver received a radio call informing him our destination was closed due to an incident. My travelling companions wandered off to look down a canyon whereas I was more interested in the crucifix on top of the obelisk .... this soldier appeared briefly and I just had enough time to get the one shot ...

  10. Thanks ! Hopefully, if the UK government do follow through on their proposals to renationalise the railways, then that will be one less usual suspect to worry about and that the editorial only restriction can then be lifted !
  11. I used to sell quite a number of steam locomotive images from the 1960s, mainly for calendars, but not for some time ... ever since Network Rail played the big I am and tried to stop images from "their" property being licensed despite many of them being taken decades before they came into being. They relented slightly and now graciously allow these old images to be licensed as editorial ... which has got me thinking ... as editorial only images, can they still be used for calendars or are calendars considered as commercial use ? I ask as I had quite a few appear as zooms this morning ...
  12. That's what makes it look a bit odd ... and there are no hard edges or definition to the dots and some of them look slightly elongated. I guess it's possible they have been copied from a printers proof and possibly by using a process camera ! My initial thought was that it had been copied from a printers proof taken from an offset printer running the four colours, black, yellow, magenta, cyan and that's what has given the odd tints but there is no signs anywhere of any dots or dot patterns / angles other than black so that's a no !
  13. My trade was graphic reproduction and my working days were filled by working with lith film, making halftones and duotones and copying artwork prior to page make up. There seems to be something that doesn't quite feel right looking at those .... if these were direct halftone negatives and contact positives, I would expect the dots to be more defined and have harder edges ... I would personally opt for your option three Wim ... but that still doesn't account for the green and magenta casts !! As has also been mentioned, there is no moire pattern ... although that can be minimised to an extent b

I am very wary of what my satnav tells me after an experience last year ... got off the ferry in Northern France to start the long drive to Hungary and set the satnav to fastest route ... by the time I realised where it was taking me, it was too late ...
