  2. Post your positive results in 2018 here! :)

A huge first for me ever, not just 2018, but certainly fits this topic; two sales in one day!!! For a guy with a very small number of images at this point, I'm quite pleased. I've had 3 sales this month so far. From looking at my meager stats over the years, Spring is usually my prime time. Seems odd to me so we'll see how the rest of the year plays out. Rick

I had a beer in there once. Neat city. Nice image! Rick
  5. What formats do you shoot in Raw Or JPEG

RAW only now. Like others, I used to shoot RAW + Jpeg and did use the Jpeg from my Fuji cameras a lot. (I still found I had to do a little PP on them). Now I just shoot RAW. I have import presets I use for Capture One Pro 11 or LR CC, which ever I'm using at the time. Saves a ton of time and also saves me a little disc space. Rick

  8. Images Sold in March (Max. 1 per day

I can't tell you how nice it is to finally be able to post something on this thread!! This is a RF sale, presentation use, U.S. Region. Its the Kymulga Grist Mill in Childersburg Alabama. This was a zoom some time ago.
  9. Copy space as a tag

+1, what she said for me too, except the box thingy. I'm irrevocably stuck inside the box. Rick
  10. About 4 months ago, or so, I emailed CR to ask this very question. They stated the location information under the "Optional" tab was not searchable. I was asking because at the top of the search results page the customer can further refine their search under the "Location" tab. I was finding that many of my images were not showing up in the search when "USA" was checked off. I was told that location information was taken from the caption, tags, and super tags, not from the "Optional" tab location information. They said it is treated like the "Additional Information" field; non-searchable. Hope this helps. Rick

Sorry for being off topic, but, I looked at your images from your Egypt visit and it looks like you had an amazing trip. Rick

Wim, Why are all the people at the bottom end of the photo looking at you and laughing. Rick
  13. I've found shadow noise creeps in, sometimes very heavily, at around 400 ISO and definitely by 800 ISO. The software can remove most of it but sometimes it looks a little mushy. Perfectly exposed images with little to no shadows are a different matter but I don't usually get that lucky. It's just a function of the much smaller sensor but I really haven't found too many limitations because of it. I like to see a little detail in the shadows, (comes from PPA competitions), and bringing up the shadows is where the problem exists. At least that is my experience. The beauty of the camera is that wonderful IBIS. I'm rarely over 250 ISO because I can hand hold the little gem to about 1/20th sec. Rick Edit: Forgot to mention, I hate QC failures so I over compensate, on occasion. :-)
  14. I bought an Olympus OM-D, E-M1 MkII, but I did have some reservations about image quality. I'm pretty happy with the Olympus. I love the image stabilization system. I do have to warn you about high ISO capabilities. I don't shoot anything over ISO 320 because of the digital noise. But, with the image stabilization I can shoot hand held down to 1/20th sec and hardly ever shoot over ISO 250. For me, it is a camera for good light. If I have to shoot higher ISO's I use a different camera or don't take the shot. But the Oly goes with me every where. Rick
  15. Banding in a sky

I too am in agreement with the others. Looks like a nice rainbow photo to me. Looks natural. I don't think you'll have a problem. It pays to have a camera with you. Rick
