  1. Cant fault WEX, always fast delivery and good stock. Flash Centre and Calumet are also very good but don't always have the stock levels
  2. MDM, you are right, no hope of anything above £5000, but that would help!
  3. I totally agree, get good service you stay, bad service and lose a customer willing to shout his mouth off! Id been with Towergate for 8 years, so had paid in the limited amount they might have paid out. As an aside, Wex Photographic could not have been more helpful. I phoned and explained what had happened and asked what the best finance options might be, they helped out with that and were low on stock of Quadra Ranger sets so put some aside, then got the paperwork rushed through same day rather than the normal 3, so I could be back at work next day
  4. Thanks for all the replies, wow you walk away from the Mac for a couple of hours! Lots of good points there: I now know they define the working day as travelling to and from a shoot, I define it as 'when Im still working' - I was keywording on Alamy until late and then had do do my accounts until about midnight, sadly neither give a time print but I have an appeal lodged making this point. In my case I got home early, just in time to do the school pick up, so parked and ran then left the gear while I was doing dad stuff and went back to work a couple of hours later, but it as taken while I wa
  5. Hello and Happy Christmas everyone, hope you've all had a good year on Alamy. I had a nasty experience in November when thieves using a key scanner opened my car and stole £20,000 of kit. I recovered £6000 of Elinchrom lights a few days later, dumped as they could figure out what they were or where to sell them I guess, but they still have a D5, D800, 4 lenses, some speedlights, filters, cards and batteries - basically the kind of kit it takes 20 years to collect. I was obviously shocked and distraught but at least, I thought, Im insured so I can get back to work soon. So I called Towe
  6. Does anyone know what the results in the Customer Likes tab are based on? Is it that a picture has been clicked on or a comp downloaded?
  7. Hi everyone, Ive had an odd problem uploading to Stockimo on and off over the last year. Sometimes if I edit a picture using standard Apple iOS software (open from pictures and hit edit) Stockimo can no longer see the modified image. My workaround has been to open in photoshop or snapseed to resave but sometimes it decides these are the ones it dosent like today, an today is one of those days! Anyone else had this? Im on an iPhone 6 Thanks Matt
  8. Back in the 90s during the Northern Ireland troubles I was working for a national newspaper, and with a reporter knocked on a senior UK government minister's front door at his country estate, having arrived in a battered and ancient Ford Escort. We were arrested at gunpoint and held under anti-terror laws until we'd been checked out and cleared. We were detained on the garden terrace with lovely views and given a pot of good tea and some very nice biscuits, so one of my better arrests at work.
  9. Fantastic! I didnt know this had sold. Thanks for highlighting it Matt
  10. 1 3.7, a good few 3.3s and 1 sale out of 200+ images, but like someone else my first real Alamy sale came after 500 or so online.
  11. Worse problems than that - iOS8 on an iPhone 4S and Stockimo app closes itself before its finished opening! Cant use it at all now.
