  1. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it! On this thankful day, I'm happy to report that I've surpassed my highest grossing year ever on Alamy! Hardly getting rich off my very modest stock sales, but very happy to see the trend going up instead of down!!
  2. Great news and not great news...I've beat last year's total number of sales, but it was with a $2 gross sale (and was a distributor to boot!!). Oh well, can't win em all... Jamie
  3. Thanks Chuck! You should definitely try one of these days to witness Fire Fall. It's amazing, though it has become extremely popular and crowded. But once you've found a spot to wait for the phenomena, it's great.
  4. Had my largest sale just pop up today since the very early years with Alamy! Worldwide Usage: Editorial Media: Travel guides -print and/or e-book Print run: Unlimited Placement: Inside Image Size: 1 page Start: 01 July 2019 End: 01 July 2022 UNLIMTED use of image in brochures, direct mail, promotional emails and corporate website use (does not include advertising). Duration 2 years $ 645.00

  6. The sale hasn't popped up yet, but as of today, my image of the black sand beach in Wainapanapa Park in Maui is featured on the homepage of National Geographic for their story on State Parks!! I doubt it'll be a big sale $$ wise, but it's surprising that Nat Geo uses Alamy for some of their content! http://www.nationalgeographic.com
  7. In the USA it is rather difficult to get exempted and costs, as I remember, $80 just to to apply to our government. I think you also only get a few years exemption at a time. Sorry I forget the details but it seemed not to be worth it until such time as I was getting a large amount from DACS. I am now just letting Alamy do it. Not as lucrative but certainly easier. Sometimes I let myself off the hook of getting as much money as possible. Paulette Thanks for the info Paulette! I won't bother trying to get the withholding back. Jamie
  8. I live in the U.S.A and also realized my DACS payment had taxes withheld! Nearly 20% for me...115 pounds and 23 pounds withheld. Also received the mailed statment over the weekend. I have emailed DACS to see if that amount can be collected. We'll see... Jamie
  9. BME in terms of number of sales, 11...but 9 of them were for single digit prices (net)!! Didn't realize I was selling RM microstock. At least having sales may boost my rank to allow for some "real" sales. Jamie
  10. All passed this morning from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th submissions! Now to keyword all of those images....wheee! Jamie
  11. Still waiting on submissions from the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Glad to hear I'm not the only one still waiting from earlier this week...was a bit more worried than usual Jamie
  12. Happy to report, all 5 submissions passed QC this morning. See...nothing to worry about! (j/k I always worry a little) Good luck on all your submissions waiting in the queue. Jamie
  13. I sure hope it's just a delay and not a failure (haven't had one in many years) but I see no reason to wait to upload. The only real risk is "time wasted" for the actual uploads but since the uploads don't take any effort on my part...I don't see any problem with uploading while waiting especially in light of the blog post alerting of the delay. And I have not heard of any "blocking" that alamy would do should one have a failed submission.
  14. 5 submissions waiting, oldest from Dec. 22nd to one yesterday. Still waiting.....
