The sale hasn't popped up yet, but as of today, my image of the black sand beach in Wainapanapa Park in Maui is featured on the homepage of National Geographic for their story on State Parks!! I doubt it'll be a big sale $$ wise, but it's surprising that Nat Geo uses Alamy for some of their content! http://www.nationalgeographic.com

DACS payment
Jampham replied to John Mitchell's topic in Stock photography discussion and contributor experience
In the USA it is rather difficult to get exempted and costs, as I remember, $80 just to to apply to our government. I think you also only get a few years exemption at a time. Sorry I forget the details but it seemed not to be worth it until such time as I was getting a large amount from DACS. I am now just letting Alamy do it. Not as lucrative but certainly easier. Sometimes I let myself off the hook of getting as much money as possible. Paulette Thanks for the info Paulette! I won't bother trying to get the withholding back. Jamie -
DACS payment
Jampham replied to John Mitchell's topic in Stock photography discussion and contributor experience
I live in the U.S.A and also realized my DACS payment had taxes withheld! Nearly 20% for me...115 pounds and 23 pounds withheld. Also received the mailed statment over the weekend. I have emailed DACS to see if that amount can be collected. We'll see... Jamie -
How was your March 2015?
Jampham replied to Robert Convery's topic in Stock photography discussion and contributor experience
BME in terms of number of sales, 11...but 9 of them were for single digit prices (net)!! Didn't realize I was selling RM microstock. At least having sales may boost my rank to allow for some "real" sales. Jamie -

Quality Control delayed or first fail?

Quality Control delayed or first fail?
Jampham replied to Semmick Photo's topic in Alamy Quality Control and technical talk
I sure hope it's just a delay and not a failure (haven't had one in many years) but I see no reason to wait to upload. The only real risk is "time wasted" for the actual uploads but since the uploads don't take any effort on my part...I don't see any problem with uploading while waiting especially in light of the blog post alerting of the delay. And I have not heard of any "blocking" that alamy would do should one have a failed submission. -
