  1. Many thanks Wim, great help. Jenny
  2. I have already removed the word Buddha as I know its not, can anyone help with ID for this goddess thanks.
  3. As Paulette says you have some lovely images, and need more added to your portfolio, with the inclusion of the latin names for animals and plants. I am just going out of the door so do not have time to give examples of specific images, but I noticed that your keywords need to be looked at very carefully. You need to say what is in the image. I noticed you have some of a village in Italy, you mention snow, there is no snow in the image (there were others that were not appropriate, but as I say rushing out). One of your lion images says mouth open....it is not. If you have a lion, include singul
  4. I have no idea, but what is really weird is that when looking at AOA and seeing one of these types of searches, even when it shows hundreds of images have come back in that search, if I click it, it says can't find anything ! I have tried it with quite of few of them. Maybe it's unique to a particular client?
  5. I thought that at first, but I think it maybe is a typo and he meant to say 'now' as opposed to 'not'
  6. Thanks. I think I would worry too much and maybe tend to be overly cautious. As you say too, often not worth the time and effort trying to remove.
  7. Just out of interest would you of uploaded that? With the fringing I mean. And please take that as its meant, a genuine question because I always bin anything like that, in fact have done today when editing. Is there a way to tell what is genuine CA or just the effect you refer to? I am thinking now I am maybe erring too far on the side of caution ??? I spend ages sometimes faffing around with images with that only to give up and bin them !
  8. Hi Josh Firstly you have some lovely images. If you use the search facility or just trawl back through the forum you will find lots of information relating to all of your questions. Have a look at the 'images found in ....' threads which run every month, also 'images sold in ...' again every month. Although they are not exhaustive they will give you an idea. In your dashboard, measures, click on All of Alamy, select dates or just 'yesterday' and again you will see SOME of the images that have been sold. (Note, not ALL images sold will be shown on AOA). Keywording....what is in
  9. in UK we use blackboard more than chalkboard, plus love heart
  10. Alex have you not noticed you have won the December challenge? Who needs 5 stars eh?
  11. I was wondering about this too and with the removal of private messaging I wonder if the best thing is to find his original post in the competition, use it as a quote (as I have with yours), and then when he next logs in he will get a notification. Just a thought.
  12. Apparently some people think they are buying the actual product ! I am not sure how, maybe they search google for the product, end up directed to Alamy and don't realise its a stock photo agency ? I have just had one too. Then I guess once they get a 'file' with the image they ask for the refund. It seems to happen a lot, hopefully Alamy will find a way around this happening, especially as obviously the 'file' can't be returned unused!!
  13. Mine has been refunded today Surely there must be a way for Alamy to ensure upon a personal use purchase the buyer is informed correctly!?
  14. Yes me too, just had a personal use for an image of some medication. I expect it will be refunded
  15. And don't forget, you will not be paid until you have a CLEARED balance of $50 or more
  16. They are an Alamy partner so I guess ok to discuss here. In my experience with them they were good to start with, good prices. But, their search engine is shocking, lots of appropriate images do not come up in searches, they put their own keywords in which again are very bad. Even if you have taken the time to put the latin name of a plant in with the common name it is then often mis tagged, as something completely different. The prices now are more often than not in the single cent bracket. I will be closing my account with them shortly. This is obviously just my opinion.
  17. Thank you for clarifying that for me, I thought there was something I was missing! So if using LR4, anything I enter in the Title field (can't look right now but assuming there is one), that will be the caption in image manager? Dumb question of the day probably!
  18. good news Ed. To do a speedtest just go to one of the sites like Ookla, then you will know for sure. Test at different times of day, you may find one thats better. Good news that you a work around if needed though. Jenny
  19. Don't forget to put the latin name for animals, birds, insects, plants etc (your swan as an example) it may take time researching but I enjoy it, its amazing what you learn. Also plurals and singulars, for example I looked at one of your images of a train, it has trains but not train. So pheasant and pheasants, plant and plants etc etc. Also as already mentioned the variations in spelling from UK to US, colourful, colorful, for example.
  20. You have already asked this question and received some answers https://discussion.alamy.com/topic/12206-helloi-am-new-here/ You need to spend some time reading through this forum, LOTS of time, there is a wealth of information and advice, read, absorb and act
  21. Brilliant news Edo. As someone said check out the charity shops for household bits and bobs, and the likes of Tesco, Asda etc do good bedding etc for very little cost. All the best Jenny
