  1. Hi, I just got a personal use sale for an image which was zoomed yesterday. Am I wrong to think that Alamy only recorded data from regular customers and that a ''regular customer'' doesn't usually buy images for personal use?
  2. Never upload pictures on the internet. It consumes precious energy.
  3. Yes, but the image from which I want to copy the keywords is way way down the list (it was uploaded a few years ago), and I don't know how to access both images on the same page.
  4. Another question about the fantastic and marvelous new image manager: Let's say that I just uploaded an image for which I would like to copy the keywords of another of my pictures that was uploaded a long time ago, how do I proceed? Thank you in advance...
  5. It would be so much easier and faster to use the IM if the keywords appeared in alphabetical order. Why isn't it so?
  6. Is there a way to have the tags sorted in alphabetical order in the image manager?
  7. When I copy tags from one image to another, I sometimes need to remove the star as I don't want the tag to be a supertag for that specific image. So I click on the star to remove it and the IM reacts as if I'm trying to delete the tag. What am I doing wrong?
  8. In 2015, 20 of my images were sold for a total of 1217$. I had 6 sales in January 2016, amounting to $700.32 (with one 5.32$ distributor sale). So far so good.
  9. After sending a request about an unauthorized usage of one of my Alamy pics, I received this answer from member services: "We’ve just noticed that this usage is outside our territories in which we can chase." The picture is appearing on the website of a "virtual shopping mall" based in India. Is it worth chasing or will I only be losing my time doing it?
  10. "My first sale of the year popped up today and, guess what, it's one of those much-discussed and much-missed $180 book licenses. :D" Same thing here, on January 4th.
  11. I sent an email to Alamy about an unreported usage of one of my pictures and the form was attached to their reply.
  12. I have sent a dozen claims for unauthorized usages of my pictures to Alamy since the form was made available. I'm hoping for results since my sales have been plumetting to depressing levels during the last months. Does anybody know if Alamy seems to be successful in retrieving the money owed for those stolen images? Thank you.
  13. Country: Mexico Usage: Editorial Media: Magazine - print, digital and electronic Print run: up to 10,000 Placement: Inside Image Size: 1 page Start: 01 December 2014 End: 01 December 2019 Flat rate per image. Duration: 1 month. $ 20.00 Not quite as bad as your lease, but I'll be left with $6 since it's a distributor sale. And the image size is 1page...
  14. To those who received a payment: did you get an email fram DACS informing you that the money was transferred into your account?
  15. Drummer Bob Harrison performing live in Montreal in the 80's. New Orleans Lagniappe Brass Band giving an outdoor show on Esplanade de la Place des Arts during the Montreal Jazz Festival. Trio of Mexican musicians photographed on a street of Puerto Morelos, state of Quintana Roo, Mexico Sorry about the small pics. If I copy the URL of the larger image I still get "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community".
  16. You're not the only one. The images I'm trying to upload (following the instructions) are on Alamy, and I keep getting the message saying "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community".
  17. "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community". is the message that I get when I try to post my images.
  18. I found one of my images on this site by looking up my name. Any good reason why I shouldn't send them a menacing email (to what avail, will it result in anything)? Should I send the link somewhere else first (somebody mentioned the FBI)?
  19. After receiving a message from alamy saying there were 3 licenses I could claim for, I sent an email to DACS. After a week, I hadn't received an answer, so I wrote again, and I still haven't heard from DACS. I included a statement of my sales covering the period from 2010, when I started with Alamy, to the end of 2013. We have only a few more days to make our claim...
  20. I'm working on an image taken yesterday. It's a picture of a circus big top with yellow and blue stripes. Raw file, 16 bits. Depending of the angle of the stripes (spiral pattern), the junction between blue and yellow is pixellized in a staircase pattern at some places, on all of the four frames I took. Those artefacts appear in no other image, in fact I've taken many thousands of pictures with my D700 and 24-70 zoom, and it is the first time I see this. I was using a polarizing filter. The pixels are visible in the raw file without sharpening. Anybody knows why this happens and how to get rid of the artefacts if possible? Thanks
