  1. Past hour
  2. Your camera is absolutely fine for Alamy, 24MP APS-C, a very good choice. Unless you are desperate to replace it anyway you might be better asking contributors@alamy.com if they know why your images didn't pass QC, it won't be the camera and if it is then someone has made a mistake. It does happen.
  3. Measures appears to be back, but heaven knows what we have missed in the interim?
  4. Indeed. Sadly the database missed out! No update today, which of the two should be the priority.
  5. Today
  6. 18/04/2024, Guardian [Journal section], p7, Hastings, H2RHB5, Guy Bell
  7. I think this is restricted to Oz, the pic above was taken in the UK
  8. Ditto gone up a bit plus 2 zooms which is unusual Hopefully sales are on the way
  9. Old Nilkon D800 with the 2.8G trinity. Leica Q3. Much easier to carry around. My wife currently uses a Fuji X100. Waiting on a Fuji X100 VI.
  10. Yes, more views have been added since this mornings 151 with another 214 added, and a rare (for me) zoom has appeared which has helped my CTR slightly. Hopefully a sign that we're getting back to normal, at least until it falls over again.
  11. Haha, the relevance did occur to me when I was posting. Maybe that's why it got so many likes 😆 I think Apple has got more money than it knows what to do with, so I should be ok... (famous last words)
  12. Just had another look, and Measures (mine, at least) seems to have been fixed since this morning Alex
  13. What I found.... Cephalotus follicularis is a monotypic genus, meaning that it is the only species (follicularis) within the genus (Cephalotus). Cephalotus was first discovered and recorded in 1792 by a French expedition to southern Australia led by Bruni d’Entrecasteaux. Most likely, botanist Archibald Menzies was the first European botanist to be lucky enough to find this wonderful plant with a very peculiar appearance. The word Cephalotus comes from the Greek “kephalotos” which means “head”, referring to the shape of the traps. Folliculus in Latin means “a small bag or bag”, which describes the shape of carnivorous “pitchers”. Source: https://www.portaldojardim.com/pdj/2020/11/18/plantas-carnivoras-cephalotus/
  14. I'm usually pretty good at this but I just can't find any ID on this 'plant' growing in some moss. Google lens keeps coming up with Sundew (Drosera) which it obviously isn't. Nothing in any of my reference books. Anybody any ideas? Thanks
  15. Might want to re-jig the caption after BILD-gate 😉
  16. 2 thoughts: a. this may be BILD thing now, but if they are successful, others may follow... b. offering a trademark-logo is not yet infringement of a trademark-logo AFAIK
  17. Currently I use 2 Nikon D500's, 2 Nikon D750's and a Sony RX100 Mk 7 and a variety of lenses for the Nikon's. Today I just have a single D500 with me, along with 16-80mm and 10-24mm lenses, traveling light. Usually its the cameras with small sensors that can create issues.
  18. Yes, it sounds as if Alamy has been ambushed and decided to just pass the ambush along to some of its contributors. Very disconcerting indeed.
  19. I had this with a batch I uploaded yesterday. Set to Newest first, and resaved my web link. Alamy defaults back to Random each time you log in anew. Its also put the portfolio order out, but I can't see how to change that
  20. I currently use the Sony a6000 and earlier NEX-6 cameras. Both are fine for Alamy, so it doesn't sound as if your camera is the issue. I also use Sony kit lenses for the most and have no problems with QC. All modern lenses -- even inexpensive ones -- can produce sharp pictures, you just have to get to know their limitations, etc.
  21. The ZV-E10 is a Sony a6100 with some extra video and vlogging stuff. APS-C sensor. So it's not the camera. Current gear: Every Day Carry: RX100 V and VI. Regular camera: A7RII. Renting on occasions: A7RIV. The older part of my portfolio on Alamy was shot on EOS 1DS II and III. The oldest images are scanned analog 35mm slides. wim

  23. Highly interesting. Brilliant work! I've just checked it against 10 of my images and yes it does find lots of keywords I had not considered at the time. Sometimes it even finds the exact subject. The descriptions are not too bad. If you're really bad at keywording this may well lead to sales. Especially on the micros. Maybe here as well. wim
