On a recent trip to the city I enjoyed limiting myself to one lens, a wide angle zoom. I was working with 8-16mm and having that set limitation I find helps with creativity and exploring options within limitations. There is a convict-built building in Perth constructed from 1856-1860 known as the Cloisters building. I was impressed with its decorative brickwork. I also really liked the Port Jackson Fig Tree located next to it within the area of The Rusty Fig restaurant. Both the building and tree are heritage-listed. Shooting at the wider end I could get some of the canopy of the fig tree. It's lovely to see such an old tree with character in the middle of a city.

I've noticed just the opposite, lower fees due to the new "standard licenses", which seem to be increasingly popular. However, I do have a bigger than average payout coming this month, plus some "other income". 🙂 -

I just gave Nitro Photo (https://www.gentlemencoders.com/nitro-for-macos/index.html) another spin. OP (Ian) might find it very useful for ranking & culling. There's no need to import images into a catalog first (just open existing folders and it possibly builds a catalogue as it goes) I was able to zoom and pan up to 12 images simultaneously and star rate each one. Very impressive. Runs very smoothly on my 2017 iMac, must be lightning fast on an M series Mac. Mark -

Pay her a very small sum or take her out to dinner and divide the cost as payment over however many photos. You're not likely to get sued by your wife, are you? My understanding is that payment makes a contract valid, even if only one peppercorn. -

What's your current CTR%? Have you tried the BHZ test? Looking at your Camino de Santiago images, they are all different and they contain people doing things (always good for sales). So, unless your CTR% and BHZ results are lousy, I'd probably leave them alone, especially if they generate sales. But I probably wouldn't have submitted 5 very similar portrait format images of a backpacker in front of Swallet waterfall for example. They are just too visually similar (same person, very similar pose, same framing). Pick the best landscape and portrait (and possibly square) format shots and submit only those. Like your images BTW. Hi Alex, Would you mind forwarding the email thread from the infringer to us at contributors@alamy.com so we can make our infringements team aware of this? Thanks, Louise

I agree. And also I have seen some quite large clearance payments for images dating back to 2022. -
I agree but the L word is beyond the scope of the present discussion by request of the OP so Nitro could be a very good option with its stated integration with the Finder and Photos app. Certainly worth checking out.

No, he contacted me directly - nobody's hard to find these days. He wanted to make Alamy an offer, so I told him it was Alamy's decision to make. He then emailed me again to say that he had had his offer accepted (much lower than Alamy's original demand, sadly) Alex -

Yes, I had a brief go with it. As expected, because it uses Apple's processing engine, adjustments are fast, fluid and interactive. But I didn't find those adjustments to be as refined as LR/ACR and some of the terminology used is different. There's no Auto CA removal that I could find (manual only) which is a big timesaver for me in LR/ACR. I also didn't spot a "solo mode" for the adjustment panels which is something I like In LR. But, Nitro is a very capable package (more features than the previous Raw Power package). It's very reasonably priced, with monthly or yearly subscription and perpetual option. I'll be sticking with my Adobe Photo subscription (bought with Black Friday discount) as PS/LR/ACR tools/results are class leading IMO. I do need to upgrade my hardware though. Mark -
