  2. Hi, Just got my first QC failure in nearly 6 years on Alamy and after 210 successful submissions. Usual explanation - SoLD, soft or lacking definition. Had another look at it myself but can't see the problem. Need a fresh set of eyes to have a look. Posted it to an image sharing site and, not having done this before, I've posted this link to it. Hopefully it's the right one at 100%. https://ibb.co/xH7LzT9 Picture was taken with a Sony A68, Sony 24-70mm lens at 50mm, 1/50 at f/11, image stabilisation on. After processing it was downsized to 4500x3000px. If you could take a look and let me know what you think I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Brian.

  4. assuming all reported here is reality, sent this: Sales / Alamy Forum members have just learned active contributor John Morrison recently had stroke, is in hospice & terminally ill. Some of us want to show we appreciate him by each licensing one of his images. It appears the lowest price is $19.99US personal use. Is it possible to set up one non-controversial image at lower rate? We understand Alamy will still take share. Here are John Morrison's images AFAICT: https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo/?_gl=1*169xn99*_ga*MjExMjA0NzM4Ny4xNjUyMDIxMDI0*_ga_M5V9H9N7G8*MTcxMzk3ODQwNC4yNjUyLjEuMTcxMzk3OTAzNy4wLjAuMA..&cid=QV43RUU5DRYJH9A9CSU8QLM8SKRRU3TVN3BLB3344WRBUPULNBNUBPBAWYMU9C92&comp=1&mode=0&name=John+Morrison&sortBy=relevant&st=12 Please advise. Thanks in advance. regards jg
  5. I've never heard of Calder Valley, but chances are I'd like it too.
  6. Visiting a few of his images, it appears he was still photographing at least in near mid November. Perhaps even later. It makes me think of my own mortality, which I find I do more often these days. Things can change rapidly in this old world.
  7. That's a very good question. A friend's goat. I'll have to ask her! My friend, not the goat.
  8. I’m sure the whole Alamy forum is hanging on for the answer to this question. Where are her ears? Did you cut them off? 😉
  9. Hurray for the month end. Magazine, low $$. Sparrowhawks, England.
  10. Hello George, Search of the forum also found this.
  11. To opt out of Additional revenue options, do the following: Go to Contributor Dashboard Click Additional revenue options to expand the arrow Select the status that you would like, "in" or "out"
  12. This standard license includes 'print runs up to 100,000' - hardly Personal Use
  13. I was wondering if supplying vectors automatically dictates which commission model is placed upon the artist. Is it just performance based only, no matter what you supply?
  14. Hi Steve, Thanks for flagging this with us. Are you able to send over examples (screen grabs) to contributors@alamy.com, so we can look into this. Thanks, Chantelle
  15. Thanks Paulette for giving me the answer. At first I thought the calculation was wrong as I was taking '40% distributor commission' to mean my commission, but it is of course exactly what it says. Now I can see that the calculation is correct and as you say, the poor old photographer only gets a 'wee bit'! Paul
  16. That's such a lovely idea. Will take a look at John's blog myself as well. Thank you, Jeffrey.
