  2. Ditto, especially since we have both lived in the Calder Valley and both appreciated the alternative culture that thrives there. Alan

  4. Very sad and shocked to hear this news, The blog is also sad but brave and inspirational. http://broken-cloud.blogspot.com
  5. I seem to recall that it was John who first prompted me to search out Alamy pics in the newspapers. It fills the time quite nicely. I'd not read his blog until reading this post, but well worth a visit. Sad news.
  6. All the best for John and his family Youll be missed
  7. John, I've always enjoyed your wit and appreciated your photography. You could make fun of things but were also strong enough to have your leg pulled. I'm so greatful on our last exchange I was able to congratulate you on a sale. Safe journey.
  8. Today
  9. Cheers Bryan. Luckily they chose a different photo from the news set for the Scottish print version so two news licenses will be forthcoming.
  10. Hi Alamy, Just thought I'd let you know, your last 2 emails have been incorrectly formatted for viewing on a mobile phone, the message appears about 5mm wide. Best wishes, Steve

  12. Windows 11, Firefox. My cat isn't capable of typing the alphabet in consecutive letters on my standard keyboard. The warning is to always show the password in a popup that wants you to accept a new password. And never never use abcdefg or 1234567 as a password (that numerical one might be within my cat's capabilities, but the alphabet chain isn't. This wasn't "how do I fix this" -- it was a warning to anyone who might just click on such a thing. Last time, it went away after a while. I believe the other time was also an alphabet string. This is a heads up to users if they see something similar.
  13. Glad that he is at peace with family around him.
  14. So sorry to hear. Wish I'd known sooner so I could have reached out when he was still able to know what was going on. I'm glad to hear that he is at peace but so sad that he won't be here on earth much longer. Will miss him.
  15. link to JohnM photos AFAICT: https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo/?_gl=1*1cxjdic*_ga*MjExMjA0NzM4Ny4xNjUyMDIxMDI0*_ga_M5V9H9N7G8*MTcxMzkyMDEzNi4yNjUxLjEuMTcxMzkyMTQwMy4wLjAuMA..&cid=QV43RUU5DRYJH9A9CSU8QLM8SKRRU3TVN3BLB3344WRBUPULNBNUBPBAWYMU9C92&comp=1&mode=0&name=John+Morrison&sortBy=relevant&st=12 as a stock photographer, I want to honor him by licensing one of his stock photos; its symbolic, maybe its silly, maybe someone will let him know, maybe not; does anyone else? what is lowest priced non-plan single license using credit card? am not actually going to use image... (yes, agency benefits most, but...) oddly, I've ne'er licensed a stock photo before... if others want to do same, shall we multi-license same photo or each pick our own...? all do it on same day...?
  16. Just hopped over to his blog. The best I can tell, he had a stroke sometime around Christmas. Then a mention of a tumour (tumor), and hints of having a terminal diagnosis with 3 months left of decent activity which has been used up. Many mentions later about using a motorized getaround (wheelchair? Cart?) of some sort that he seemed to like. I believe now he can no longer speak with visitors but knows they are there. His family & friends have rallied around him these past months. I'm so sorry it has come to this but warms my heart that he means something special to his friends & family.
  17. Yesterday
  18. Very sad to hear this. I always enjoyed John's razor sharp sense of humour. Take care John.
  19. Saddened to hear this news, but I'm happy to know that John is at peace. I'll enjoy exploring his blog, which I wasn't aware of, as I've always sensed a kindred spirit.
  20. Thanks for that clarification. That makes more sense. :-)
