Yeah.. this is where all the fuss is coming from. I guess the speculation is that someone has created a composite using an older image showing a healthy looking Princess of Wales and combined it with an up-to-date image of the children giving the impression that all is well. The fact that the image is shown to be photoshopped then fuels the conspiracy theories that The Princess of Wales is far from being well. You'd have thought that the speculation would be easily fixed/killed off by The Princess of Wales making a brief appearance in public. But the fact that this also hasn't happened just throws more fuel on the fire. Yes.. but the British press is easily bored and once a story (even if it is a Brutal war that potentially impacts all of us) gets too old (6 months??) then they move on to something else new which will sell a few more newspapers or gain some increased viewing figures. The Christian Horner 'scandal' has probably had far more airtime that it should too.

Well.. yes.. but on the other hand, photography is apparently one of The Princess of Wales' hobbies .. and as money isn't exactly a problem for them, she would own and use whatever camera and lens she fancied.

Interesting conversation. Martin, Brasilnut, The DJI Air 2 is 570g. The DJI Mini 2 is 249g I believe that 250g is the magic weight (at least in the UK) as to whether or not you have to start doing training courses and getting licenses to fly. As I understand it, a drone under 250g, you just have to register with the correct authorities and then you are good to go. Did this factor into your thoughts at all? For me, stock photography is a hobby but the idea of having a cheap drone to open up new opportunities is appealing.. but I have a day job so having to spend lots of time/expense passing qualifications to get licenses doesn't appeal.

Then thou must upload five. Five shall be the number of uploads and the number of the uploads shall be five. Six shalt thou not upload, neither shalt thou upload four, excepting that thou then proceedeth to five. Seven is right out. Just waiting for Jim's count to jump straight to 12346 🙂

I tend to think that uploading photos of just about anything (so long as technically good enough) is worth doing fairly regularly even if it is a subject you have covered a lot in the past.. for no other reason than it likely feeds the alamy search algorithm which would then see you as an active contributor and so hopefully put your images higher up the order of results. And as other have said, people will often look for recent content so they might more readily find the photo of a 1980s Ford Escort that you take today than the one that you took 3 years ago.

It's certainly true that the 'Grid of Greatness' seems to have stopped happening every week.

Pretty sure it (auto geometry) has existed in Lightroom for quite a while now. I believe it is a reasonably new addition to Photoshop though. 90% of my editing is done in Lightroom though so can't swear blind as to when this was ported to Photoshop.

It's worth noting that there is a lag between a customer of Alamy's using a picture and us as contributors finding out based on the way Alamy do business. They wait for customers to fess up that they used an image, invoice the image, etc... compared to other agencies where it is payment up-front.. no money.. no image download and instant sale notification as soon as the image is downloaded.
