As usual you made it quite difficult: my lightbox holds 29 images.
I have tried to balance images and meaning this time.

Excellent challenge Wim.

Thank you for including one of mine in the final line up.

The others are so good I am having difficulty choosing one. (NOT my own of course, wouldn't be cricket.)

Looks like I am going to have to vote for myself after all.

But you made it to the finals

OK, you probably won't win that Land Rover Discovery in which the winner will drive home. But hey .... to quote Winston Churchill: "Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts." -_-

C'mon Spacecadet. Hold your head up high. This will cheer you up ^_^

Cheers,

Philippe

Aww, I thought it was going to be a glass of Orval Tripel for a minute there.

Mark,

Orval is a great beer. But it has only 6.9%.

It took me a while to find out that that Ginja Espinheira is only 23%.

Your image however scored 33.3% on everypixel aesthetics!

Let's give this voting a little bump.

Do you think you can beat the everypixel aesthetics ranking algorithm?

Please leave your vote!

There's even one image still without votes.

Here's the original April Challenge.

There's a bit over one day left.

A Thank You for everyone who already has voted. (You can change your vote until May 5th midnight London time.)

For now the shackled camel seems to be in the lead.

And that completes this Challenge.

Pazmander's camel won the race.

And he will stage the next challenge. (No not the camel.)

Congratulations Pazmander!

And to everybody who took part in the challenge and all the voters: a yuge thank you!

As a funny aside: I let the infamous miss everypixel aesthetics score the images on the shortlist and the final 8. Here they have been listed from lowest to highest score on her scoring tool.

And she was right for number 1:

pazmander - Trust in Allah, but keep your camel tied up. (Arabian proverb)- 99.4% - 16 votes = 32.65%

Abiyoyo - This Machine Surrounds Hate and Forces it to Surrender - 64.7% - 1 vote = 2.04%

Jill Morgan - Anything you can do, I can do better. - 41.1% - 7 votes = 14.29%

spacecadet - A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.... - 33.3% - 1 vote = 2.04%

Allan Bell - Cheap as Chips - 16.2% - 2 votes = 4.08%

Eden - Till the cows come home - 10.2% - 8 votes = 16.33%

Geoff Smith - Take things one step at a time - 5.4% - 3 votes = 6.12%

Rubens Alarcon - Breaking the ice -or- Walking on thin ice - 2.4% - 11 votes = 22.45%

(her percentage - our percentage)

This was a fun challenge with a good turnout.

Again: congratulations Pazmander!

wim

edit:

In case anybody would wonder about the difference in the percentages:

That last vote was really very late, so it was not included in my numbers.

Thanks to everyone who voted for the camel, and thanks especially to Wim for setting an interesting and imaginative challenge. This month’s is more prosaic, but I hope it works. The theme is ‘Transport’. So, trains and boats and planes, and any other means used to get from A to B.

Please submit up to three images, which should be from the Alamy collection.

Deadline is midnight, May 31, after which I will shortlist to 8 images for the vote.

A couple of examples follow.

Good luck everyone!
