From older forum posts I knew that I would not earn any real money from NU sales, but I hoped that more sales would increase my rank. Now I got my first NU sale and I'm upset. License details: Country: Worldwide Usage: Editorial Media: Editorial website Industry sector: Media, design & publishing Image Size: Any size Start: 02 November 2016 End: 02 November 2021 Novel use, India rights Price: USD 1.41 To me, the license details don't look like a real novel use, rather like a classical editorial online use discounted to microstock prices. For sure nothing related to "new and exciting markets" (quote from Alamy website). I'm considering to ask MS/CR about more details about the license, but probably it's just a waste of time. Looking forward to opt out of NU next April. The vast majority of my sales are regular sales anyways, so the presumed ranking benefit of NU sales is low. Here's a previous thread. http://discussion.alamy.com/index.php?/topic/5928-sale-price-question/page-1#entry99113 As Pearl was saying in that thread: "Too many low priced sales could actually damage your Alamy Rank as one of the factors taken into account is average sale price. Marianne Posted November 3, 2016 Share Posted November 3, 2016 Most of mine were for pennies but I got one novel use sale a few years back for $50 which was novel indeed! I also shot a set of concept images where one sold for $250 and another as NU for pennies a month or so later. I haven't seen one in a couple of years.
