  1. Just read his posts back as far as his diagnosis with "Finlandia" on the radio. Spoiler warning- it's heartbreaking.
  2. Seems the only way to get a comment from Alamy is to say something provocative and read the explanation of why the thread has been shut down. I'm considering it. As explained, Alamy seems to be dipping into the accounts of contributors to pay its business expenses- contributors who have followed its guidelines.
  3. They rather are, aren't they? I only used film for 28 years. Only a few more years to exceed that with digital.
  4. Sounds like a challenge, Ed. Or, in your case, a walk in the park. I try not to compete with myself, but if there's a new angle or a better light, I'll have it. The small print- I think one of these has licensed, for not much. And these aren't really similars, and the light's the same because we always go in September. Ah well. Gallic shrug.
  5. This is something of an understatement- it's very clever. I tried it out on travel pix, and it can read beer and wine labels (I have a fair few of those lol). It also identified actors dressed as Roman legionaries in Diocletian's palace. It can't identify Split yet, but it got the Beehive in Wellington. It's a very powerful tool and leaves one no excuses for not tagging. Now if it could process and upload......... Thankyou JB, this is a most generous gesture and I hope you find a way to monetise it (but please don't charge us for it!).
  6. Thanks, that did it. Thanks Wim, as well, it's not your fault I'm still on win7.
  7. Still can't get, or find a way to get, an icon. No box that I can see.
  8. I get the metadata popup but there's no way of accessing the keywords. I see no icon beside the URL window Windows 7.
  9. If we don't, this looks less like a contract and more like an ambush. If Alamy can follow the forums closely enough to take down a years-old much liked thread, it can answer to this.
  10. This has always been the QC policy. As a 10-year veteran I'm surprised you don't know it. With 24k images you'd have been likely to find out about it the hard way if you had lax QC yourself, but now you know.
  11. Assuming your images were submitted according to Alamy's guidelines my view would be that they can whistle for taxation of your account to pay their legal fees for an unsettled case. I would not be standing for this. If all is as you say, and I don't doubt it, if Alamy take your money I would be knocking on the door of the small claims court.
