I cannot find this thread, so maybe Philippe created it, so it's now been deleted. So I've started a new one.

Still Captioning and tagging from a recent trip to Maine, USA.  This guy was nice enough to let me shoot over his shoulder while he was painting.

A honey bee covered in pollen (ID thanks to John and the much-missed but still helpful Philippe).

I love those bee images, Geoff. It's an instance of a sort of "scientific" image that gives important information about nature but is also very beautiful.

I got a bit lucky, only 29 cars of this type were ever produced:

Thank you Paulette, I quite like them myself.  :D  I've taken more of all sorts of insects lately that I'm looking forward to showing off. Some will be tricky to get looking good enough for Alamy, but I should be able to use some of them.

wow, that sounds like a bargain .... for some people, unfortunately not for me.

I do not like cars anyways, to me they are generally more a burden than help.

Have to admit that this car is a beauty, most probably worth some burden - but not really a million €'s (to me personally that is).

I was so pleased with this......until I saw what others have on Alamy, against which my effort looks very poor! I think it's a Marmalade Hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus). I couldn't crop it any more, and I was already pushing things to their limits to get it through QC. I was amazed at how still it kept while hovering, enough to get a "just about" sharp shot. I had to use f4 to get a shutter fast enough, so very limited DoF (especially for macro), but I got the eye sharp at least.

These others are re-processed portrait versions of a few I took within the past several months.

Flower tributes at London Bridge, from above. Not a pretty picture, but it moved me, was standing there for quite a while. Taken in the week after the London Bridge attacks, originally meant to be a live news upload, but my laptop crashed and I couldn't upload in time. I was so annoyed with myself (& laptop) that I didn't look at or touch the images for many weeks, and then uploaded them as stock after all because I felt they still have some editorial relevance. The flowers were cleared away two days later. Life goes on, I guess. I use LB station every day and was only a few hundred meters away when the attacks happened, but decided not to take news images on the eve. It was just a bit too close for comfort for once, and the bigger agencies were there within minutes in any case. Still haunts me every time I walk through Borough Market though.

Cologne Cathedral, view from the hardly ever closely pictured from the back (unless the photo includes the bridge.

Did that because a huge scaffold on one tower disturbs the view from the front at the moment.
