The maximum size of these seahorses, including the very long tail is less than 20mm. They were only described in 2003 as it was previously thought that they were the young of another species. Getting very close without camera, lights or divers bubbles causing the sea fan to retract it's polyps is extremely difficult. I suspected the Springsteen link as I'd had a few other views of these images of Asbury park, including the Stone Pony club which is closely linked to Springsteen.
