Today's sales makes 2016 best year for numbers and best year for gross0 revenue since 2008. Unfotunately revenue is fifth best since I joined in 2002, and half each of best three years :(

Grateful for small mercies!

A single page book sale for $125. But with this sentence accompanying the sale details: 'The terms of the preferred vendor agreement dated 06/27/2008 (“Agreement”) apply in lieu of any terms set out in this invoice, and no such other terms that may be set out in this invoice are enforceable against Publisher.'

What does this mean?

It mens the separate contract, the previous preferred supplier agreement sets out the terms that give the customer special access and terms to Alamy managed content. Usually there is a quid pro auo that the customer uses Alamy as first, even only, choice of supplier. Common in major corporates, I met many such agreements in IT, usually froze new new suppliers out.

Reached a milestone of sorts.  A shoot that I have done twice, with special access, has just ticked over $10,000 in gross sales on Alamy, over the years I have been here.  I am usually not that guarded of person but this one I will not go into subject matter.  I hope you good folks understand. :)

Congratulations!

Easy: it's Hillary!

Maybe not. ;-)

(Far too many images around.)

My first guess: something with a palm and a beach in the Caribbean. ;-)

It's probably in the "A" images. Or early "B".

The bomb sniffing dog could be very relevant. Not a whole lot on Alamy either, but it's not an urban environment and the images don't jump from the page.

The Habitat series however does jump from the page. A good candidate.

Lots of hospital stuff. That's a very strong candidate.

But my money is on something else.

(And if I'm right there's an important keyword missing. Meaning it could have made even more.)

More positive news from/about DC:

The image for display in the hotel has cleared.

Despite that, I still think it's the Donald's new one.

(Mine was not a bowl of Skittles.)

edit: search for *hotel* in this topic in the search bar, to see what this is about.

Steady sales and zooms through this month.  One of those sales was licensed at $310.  Good payment for an image of a pile of rubbish :) .

I'm now well over my total sales for last year and still three months to go.

Just when I thought that $100+ sales were on the verge of extinction, one for $150 popped up today. Nice to see.

There's still hope... B)

After a slow couple of months, I had 5 sales drop in this morning. Three of the same subject for a  bimonthly Worldwide Magazine/electronic, print run of 2 million. 2 full page @ $300 each and the front cover @ $600.00. They were natural history subjects, can anyone give me an idea of which magazine this might be please. Sold in USA.

One of the others was $125....so made September very nice for me, thanks Alamy.

British Wildlife Magazine?

National Wildlife?

New Zealand Geographic?

Audubon?

No idea about print runs though.

For newspapers the Wikipedia numbers are usually in the ballpark.

Try google for bi-monthly natural magazine or bi-monthly geographic magazine.

edit: congratulations of course!

Thanks for the suggestions wiskerke, will take a look at them. Yes, it's nice to see Alamy obtaining such a good fee.

Good fees come from excellent and unique images. Well done.

After almost three months without a 3 digit license, I had two $149 in a row. One of them is my "best seller", which has been sold 15 times for a total over $2600. I just need a dozen more pictures like that.

With my portfolio growth I finally have a steady sales. A bit more than one a week. Not very impressive result and rather modest sums of money but I am glad to finally have hundreds of views every day, zooms from time to time and regular sales every month. Going to upload more editorial content. Every editorial shoot tells a story so attracts attention. Congrats to everyone with healthy sales. )

Finally made the small achievement of attaining 4000 images. It's came about much later than I thought it would as my enthusiasm and inspiration waned at times. Pleased to have finally made it though. :)

It's a lot of work, so congrats on reaching that milestone. I have about 2200 at the moment in my main pseudonyms, with another few hundred in what's become more of an overflow to keep my CTR on the main pseudo's up. About a year ago, and it's still sometimes on-going, I removed many hundreds of images. I'd probably have near to 4000 now but I had to cull a lot of rubbish. So now I'm building it up again but with better images, and my goal is to get back to 3000.

My positive results - Had a couple of print sales yesterday, which I don't get that often. One was a UK national newspaper, and the other a magazine. The license says it includes use on the cover as well as inside, so I don't know if it is actually on a cover or if the license would be the same whether it was or not. It's a big shame we aren't told who uses OUR images!

Geoff.

Have been with Alamy 12 years this month.

2016 has seen my 3 best ever months for sale numbers, my 2 best ever months for gross income, and my best ever month for Alamy income.

It can work. Thank you Alamy
