  1. Hello Alamy world!

Hi there, this is Giogionny! I'm really new to this kind of system, so I will probably ask many questions to all of you! Thank you so much for the opportunity to be here and for the advices you will be giving me! Have a great day!
  2. new to alamy

Hello. New to Alamy for about a year, but just recently really started uploading. So far I haven't had anything flagged in QC which is nice since I'm reading a lot of that on here. I sell mainly lifestyle images. So far no sales but I hardly have anything in there compared to others. I'm currently uploading more. Will be reading more of this forum since I finally discovered it!
  3. Newbie post - hello :)

Hi everybody. I am Aleksandra living in Scotland. Wanted to give myself a bash in the Alamy business and see where this will lead. I love the Scottish landscape and my photos are mainly this. I have submitted a couple of images and still have to go through all my photos to choose the best ones. Happy to exchange ideas

Bye for now Steve .

  6. Hello from Germany

Hello. My name is Johannes Oehl and I am a photographer living near Stuttgart, Germany. I love to travel and shoot photos! I am married since more than 25 years and have two children. Since my youth I am shooting photos. I used very first money for buying a Canon AE-1 (analog for sure). Since some years I am using digital still cameras. Currently I own a Nikon D800 and a Sony Alpha 7r II. Coming from macro photography, I discovered landscape- and architecture-photography. Since a few years I am also doing portraits. I have uploaded some photos and had to learn that a the rule DSLR-photo is a hard rule, because I'm frozen now. You can visit in the meantime my webpage www.jZoom.de Regards, Johannes
  7. I started to upload images here at the end of last year. I realised soon it is difficult to sell images on Alamy with little portfolios. So i had only few hope at first. Now I had surprised and happy for my first two sales.Today I am happy to say hello to all of you and hope to have an happy future here. If you want, you can also view at my portfolio and make comments or suggestions.
  8. Saying Hello

Just saying Hello. This is my first post. From what I have read briefly of the organisation it drives me to want to continue. Hence my reason for reaching here even without a submission of photos.
  9. Alamy, please post new 'Manage Images' general info - including your video - in a place contributors can find easily. (While I was taking tour of new Manage Images, I prematurely closed area with 'View Video' link. Now I have questions, but can't locate that video.) Your new Manage Images certainly looks promising. Thanks - Ann
  10. If a contributor sets any of the 4 NEW restrictions for an image, will that image be available ONLY on Alamy? 1) At least one of Alamy's major partner sites allows Editorial Use Only of its images. That restriction appears in red text next to each of its images here. Will Alamy now make its images that are available for 'Editorial Use only' available on partner sites, (with accompanying statement it's for Editorial Use Only)? 2) If I restrict Personal Use for all my images, does that mean none of my images will be available through Alamy's Partner sites? Thanks - Ann
  11. Hello Everyone :D

Hello everyone! After a (very) long hiatus, I've started taking photos seriously again and thought I would join this community. So, hi! I'm not really looking to make major bank on Alamy but it would be nice to pull in some money to go towards new kit. I feel very out of the loop!
  12. Hello Everyone!

Hello, my name is Bert Becerra, I am a photographer based in Panama and have been wit Alamy since 2006, but never enter the forum until today. Just wanted to say hello and start posting here a bit. Thank you,
  13. Review of pictures

Hello My name is Thomas and this is my first time on this forum. I have uploaded my first files but I can´t really see that it went ok. It´s been some days now and I just wonder if I have to do it again. I read that review time was within 24h. Regards Thomas
  14. Hi to everyone. I have just submitted my first 4 images and am waiting for the alamy team to give me the yea or nay. Looking forward to learning the lay of the land in Alamy and the approval process. I do submit to several other stock agencies and I tend to focus on studio work but not of people. Take care Diana
  15. new to alamy

I am new to alamy and I was curious to know about how much money I can expect to make.
  16. Hello from New England!!!

Hello everyone! I recently joined Alamy to sell my pictures online! I am completely new at this. I was just hoping if anyone had any tips/pointers they could give on selling their pictures the best way??
  17. I'm fairly new to Alamy and was wondering how I could see all my images on Alamy. And if I have done anything wrong, because when I search for my pseudonym only 87 pictures come up when I have 300 for sale.
  18. Hi everybody, I am about to submit my first four submissions for approval, they look OK technically.Three of the images have people in them with no model release and the fourth is of the Hungarian parliament shot at dusk. My question is: do the initial submissions have to be totally bland ie suitable for commercial micro stock type or can they reflect the sort of editorial work that I wish to submit? Thanks Adrian
  19. Showing "new" searches in measures

It was recently suggested in a forum thread that even though a subject may be saturated it may still be worth adding images of that subject because amongst other reasons it may be possible that the picture buyer uses the "new" tab. Trouble is that unless its very obvious we dont know in how much the "new" tab is used. It might be handy, if you want to incentivise those with lowly ranks to show in measures when a search involved the "new" tab much like you do with MR or WP.
  20. Quality Contol ?????

My question is should I be comfortable now that 9 images have passed QC or should I still be on guard? Hello, I am new and had read the Alamy forum prior to joining and I must say I was slightly frightened by the QC in Alamy and there was also some talk of how long it was taking to get through QC. I have so far experienced none of those problems. My first 4 images went though in 24 hours and passed, my second 5 images went though in about 40 hours and passed.
  21. This newby needs a jumpstart

Hey everyone, I'm new to Alamy and have about 45 images available for sale as of today. I joined alamy about 4 weeks ago but have not had any zooms much less sales. Most of my photos are related to travel. I'm stuck in a rut and need some advice from the vets here at Alamy. Any advice on quality of photos, marketability, etc. are greatly appreciated. Stock photography by Kelley Stanley at Alamy Thanks! Kelley Stanley
  22. I just received the Lytro Illum camera and am wondering if anyone has submitted images from the Illum to Alamy.
  23. New to Alamy

Hello everybody, My name is Mirco Vacca and just started to send to Alamy. I have many RF images also on microstock agencies but since i am doing more street photography i think Alamy is a better place for me. I see people making not much sales here but aslo others with 1600 photos selling 20 licences per month. Off course it depends on the quality of your images. I want to give it a try. Feel free to check my portfolio. I am happy to get opinion about it. For sure i can learn something from you. Thank you very much . Mirco
  24. Hi everyone. I am relatively new here. I joined around April this year. After a few weeks I had my first sale for a total of $134, and since then nothing. I have also noticed that the amount of zooms I am getting is very low. This month so far 0! For you more experienced contributors, what am I doing wrong? It may also be nothing, but I would really appreciate some advice. http://www.alamy.com/stock-photography/C2D9A136-7CF6-4E3E-916A-A8BFE487D575/Stephen%20Allen.html Thanks for your help, I think I need all I can get Steve
  25. As we're now into the second week of the new forum what are your views on how it is working? My view is that the number of posts seem to be lower, but of higher quality. And the amount of nasty or antagonistic posting has been lower. But I'm fairly new and don't hold any rights to longevity on forum posting, which seems to have been a token of value on the old forum. What do others think? Ken
