Hi Matt,

Automatic transmission and the second trailer follows the first really well, so that makes it surprisingly easy to drive and the added height makes it really good for scouting out photo locations off the highway.

Cheers,

Chris

Buckskin Gulch -- longest and deepest slot canyon in the world -- Utah, United States.   Pic taken 2nd half of April 2017;  one could conceivably spend a week here photographing.  Tripod is a MUST as there is simply not enough light,  but I was only hiking and this shot was handheld;   it turned out very sharp and focused, even with 1/15 sec exposure.  Lens has stabilizer, so this probably helped;  I was also leaning my elbows on the rock to steady as much as possible.   ND filter is also very good idea as upper parts of the frame will usually be considerably brighter.

BTW, does anyone know what type of dog this is -- a poodle perhaps?

Could it be a Bichon Frise?

Thanks, but too big I think. The dog got up and walked away after I took the picture, and he/she looked to be quite large.

Just want to say, this is FANTASTIC image.   I look at this thread for most part to enjoy high quality shots, and this one just pushes all the right buttons. Maybe because it is so simple;  just a guy walking his dog.   If I was nit picking I'd say only thing that could be better would be removal of car roof next to hotel entrance.

Hope it sells.. many times!

This was hard work. It was a very lucky shot, with no time to setup properly. The background was atrocious so I had to change it. I tried various options but none looked right, and I'm not sure this does either. The ducks are so sharp though that I had to use it somehow. Oh they are Mallard ducks - I think. The left one looks a bit different, possibly a cross-breed (there are many cross-breed Mallards at this location in Arundel). The left one also looks like a drake due to the colouring, but it's body looks a bit like a hen. Hmmm. The one on the right is a hen, I'm sure, but I hadn't spotted the colouring on a female's wings before. It's almost impossible to identify the species at this location with all the cross-breeding going on, thanks to the nearby wildlife wetlands place.

I thought of Allan while taking these. :D   I'm not sure which I like best. Taken on the same side of the road as the field. They are of the market town of Arundel in West Sussex, UK.
