Unclear?

Way back in June I sold a photo (via a distributor), four months on payment is still awaiting clearance. Previous distributor sales have cleared in a fairly reasonable time scale – I’m guessing this is just a lousy distributor who’s a little tardy about paying their bills. Anyone else have similar issues?

 

And just a thought, personal use licenses  by their nature  won’t be purchased on an account, they’ll simply be paid for by credit card, so how come (Alamy Finance Team please jump in here) these don’t clear within 24 hours?

Don't hold your breath (or rather do) for a distributor. Allow 6 months.

No doubt PUs do clear, but the contract says 6 weeks, so 6 weeks it is. I suppose it allows for chargebacks.

I've waited 11 months for a distributor, and it wasn't worth the wait.

I also have a distributor sale from May, not yet cleared. I checked with Alamy and they say it takes a while for these to clear.

Well, in my case, it's purely academic anyhow, as by the time the distributor gets paid, and Alamy have their commission, I'll be someway short of being able to buy a pint of Doom Bar.

Don't think much of the distributors credit control systems - what are they doing - going round on foot asking for a cheque?
