Whether someone could spot their Golden Retriever from another in a photo is had to say. I mark all my dog photos as RM with no releases. Leave it up to the publisher to make the decision. fotoDogue Posted August 24, 2016 Share Posted August 24, 2016 I'm certain I would recognize the two German Shepherds I had as a teenager, the white Pit Bull I had as an adult, or the terrier mix I have now. If there was any doubt I'd probably recognize the local dog runs. Here in New York some of these dogs work in tv, or in fashion shoots, so using an unreleased photo of a dog commercially may not be as simple as you might expect.
