Hi there from the U.S.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself here. My name's Christina Siu and I recently decided to start selling stock with Alamay. I was first introduced to Alamay a few years ago when I was still in photography school but I don't know why I never bothered to sign up. I eventually want to become a full time landscape photographer but, meanwhile, I photograph food, architecture, and products.

I just added keywords to my initial images but I'm not sure if that automatically updates and then puts it online to sell. I'm off to work so I won't have time to look that up until tonight.

Anyways, nice to meet you and I'm excited to get to know you all!

Christine

Hello Christina and welcome to Alamy.

Keywording your images and filling in the other fields then saving will automatically put your images in the pile to be picked up by Alamy's next sweep.

You should see your images up for sale within 24hrs.

Christina, your keywords are lacking. You 4 images are beautiful. But, for instance, the seeds. What kind of seeds? What is the scientific name and common name? Are these edible seeds for cooking or are they for growing a crop?

Suggest:

seed, seeds,(name of seeds), edible, food, raw food, raw, garnish, garnishes, (if they are a garnish),spoon, cooking utensil, closeup, nobody, indoors, copy space, copyspace,(in any image that has copy space).

Pear as well as pears in your keywords, think about what a potential buyer would search for as well as accurately describing the content of your shots.

I'm not sure how useful it is to include your name/pseudonym in the keywords. Some years ago Alamy took the decision to remove contributors' pseudonyms from image searches. That was helpful to me as it removed a load of false positives. Buyers now have to elect to search for a pseudonym if they wish.

Thank you everyone for the welcome and tips! I really appreciate it. Sorry for the mass response. I pretty much don't post in forums so my etiquette is lacking. Sorry! But seriously, thank you for helping me to begin navigating the world of stock photography. And I don't know why I always want to say Alamay instead of Alamy. Note to self--Alamy, Alamy, Alamy... :)

On another thread, people argue that access is king, I disagree. I would say that correctly spelling the names of agencies that represent you is even more king. Glad to see you getting with the program!

Yes Brian,

I totally agree with you. I'm a stickler for correctness, spelling, etc. but I've failed in this case.
