Hiya from Durham

Davey Towers

Recommended Posts

Hiya from Durham, England. My name is Davey and I am a 56 year old who has been photographing on and off for 30 years. It's only in the last couple of years since I became single again that I've decided to take it to new horizons. My interests lean towards macro and wildlife imagery. I take my dog, Max, out every day around the wonderful countryside surrounding Durham City, so my camera is always in my bag as you never know just whats round the corner!

Regards to everyone, happy new year, Davey

Welcome Davey, I live just a few miles downstream in Fatfield, so perhaps we could meet up sometime.

Perhaps I could also interest you in making a contribution to the local TOGs scaffold fund, which sponsors the erection of disfiguring scaffold around the exterior of the cathedral whenever rival shooters from outside the region visit the city?  :P

You've got some nice looking images, but selling here is hard. Don't be discouraged if you fail to see sales before you have considerably increased the size of your portfolio.

I like that idea Bryan! It could catch on elsewhere.

Thanks Bryan, nice to know. From what I've heard.... the top quarter of the cathedral tower has to be taken down sometime soon, due to erosion. Cost of about £10m!!! Scaffolding up there for years to come which is a bugger as I have a view of it from my living room window!!!! Regards Davey

Excellent, miserable weather followed by a long term scaffold shroud should protect my photos for the foreseeable future.  :)

Welcome Davey.

One general question re keywords - ANYONE? I notice that Davey has used underline characters in his keywords - I thought you just left spaces e.g. to include "green peas" in your keywords you would use "pods, green peas, veg, etc." or can you use "pods,green_peas,veg,etc." as per Davey's keywords?

I know this is not strictly for this forum.

[Edit] Meant to say, love the pics.

[Another edit] "pigs in blankets" search does not show your image Davey... but "pigs in blanket" does so maybe I am totally wrong to worry about the above.

Grateful thanks to everyone for your kind comments and warm welcome. I am busily plodding on with the task of increasing my portfolio, however this may take a while as it takes me ages to keyword!!!!

P.S.  Bryan, Would be happy to meet up in Durham with you sometime. regards, Davey
