Thanks everyone for your excellent submissions. Here are my choices for the most environmentally friendly images. As expected, choosing them wasn't easy. I tried to stay on message as closely as possible, so it wasn't totally about aesthetics. Voting ends Wednesday, July 8th. May the greenest woman or man win!

Wonderful finalists, John! It was extremely hard to pick top choice.

In fact, I wish there were also a separate category for member who submitted the most effective set of 3 environmentally friendly images.

The winner could choose to make it a portfolio competition.

Thank you for including me! A strong field, no little bears or cute little angels this time. ;-)

Extra points maybe for solar powered cameras?

wim

I have a solar-powered film camera from the 1960s. Talk about ahead of its time!

Thanks for including my photo John!.

I'm wondering how well these solar powered cameras that are being spoken of perform in low light  :P ?

That's easy: wind-up of course. ;-)

Or - like in my case - solar panels on the roof that power the battery loaders (and the computers).

I've just voted. Even now I don't know how I chose between all of those fabulous images.

I'm determined to enter the next comp, even if I have to go and make an image especially for it. And even if I have to learn how to post an image;-)

Congratulations to everyone who entered, by the way. As always, the standard of entries was very high.

Well, it looks as if the tribe has spoken, so I'm closing the poll a bit early. It was a neck and neck race with only one vote separating the two top finalists -- Bryan and wim -- who both submitted inspiring images. However, the torch will be passed to wim for his uber environmentally friendly "cycling rush hour" shot. Definitely a Dutch treat.

Thanks everyone for participating. We all now have a "renude" faith in humanity's ability to save the planet.

Congratulations, wim, we're looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the July challenge.

Cheers

Thank you all for voting!

- not just for me.

My vote was for one of the underdogs, as it often is.

Not sure what that will mean for the next challenge, now I get to do it.

A big thanks to all who participated! And please join us in the next challenge.

John, thank you for a nice and meaningful challenge!

Hope to see you all for the next round.

I'll set it up when I get back from the dentist ;-O

wim

edit: hopefully it was clear that I couldn't think straight just yet, before going to the dentist.

Thank you John for the great challenge!

I'll let the side effects wear off a little before posting the new challenge, in case I write more stupid things.
