Post your positive results here :)

Don't want this thread drop out of page one, so here I come up some positive info. Only two sales so far this month (not so positive), but it's a $250, followed by a $240, both direct sales (very positive). Well done, Alamy!

Now if only I can order half dozen more...

I have had my best year for a good while (and we still have 6 weeks to go) and it has been pretty much all in the second half of the year.

  • Since 2008 only 2011 has more sales than 2015
  • 2015 & 2010 have same revenue and gain best since 2008
  • My latest sale was my best fee since 2012

But bear in mind the numbers are so low that there is no statistical significance in my results. Interestingly as I look back my best fees are all RF (most recent was RM)

I've had 5 sales so far this month, more than normal. That's the good news.  The bad news is that all of them added together amount to the payout that one sale would have been in 2008 and the next couple of years.

My zooms are ticking up, too.

Only one sale this month, but 8 zooms in one day, today, gives me hope for the future.

Also one infringement being pursued by Alamy from a 'reputable' website, should bring a good result, although I don't think they hammer the thieves for stealing the image, just agree a license with them.

To improve my chances of posting positive reults I really need to catch up on keywording instead of buggering about on forums.

About the only positive news I have had in this lean month is that I had three infringements payments for a net of close to $100. Glad to see that Alamy is perusing these infringements and getting some results.

Just curious. You mean $ 100 for each of the three infringements (so $ 300 in total) or the total of the three was $ 100?

Cheers,

Philippe

Philippe, It was a total of $100 paid to me.  One was around $65 and the other two were around $15 each.  I am assuming that Alamy got double that and kept 50%.  I don't remember the pay split on infringements.

Black Friday!

With 3 good sales Friday definitely became Black Friday for me.

My sales number now equals my 2013 (highest until now) total: 202. While my total $$ just surpassed my best year 2007 with close to $500.

Hope there will be no refunds ;-)

- In the US Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving that traditionally marks the point after which all sales are pure profit. Before that day the numbers are red, after that they are black. Hence Black Friday. Of course the whole thing is an Urban Legend. Lots more Black Fridays mean totally different, usually unpleasant things, like Black Mondays or Saturdays.

Nice one Wim. :)  A sale on Thursday saw me exceed last years $$ total. Unfortunately it's taken 18 more sales to get there. However, if that's the best that Alamy can get for my images then I'm pleased to have the 58% more sales compared to 2014.

Edit: This is my first year on Alamy with at least one sale every month. :) :) :)

Just searched for "My Name/Alamy" at Google Books and see that I have a photo in a book about Mindstorms that will be published in January, 2016. Something to look forward to in my future sales.

The Good: Best day ever for zooms on Friday: 31   :D

The bad: Lowest value sale ever today - $2.47 for a distributor sale leaving me princely sum of 74 cents before tax  :o

Deleted. What does it matter
