My fastest QC ever

Recommended Posts

Even faster today. Uploaded 11 p.m. last night, were already passed when I checked at 8:30 this morning (my time). So that's 9.5 hour turn around time or faster.

This is very unusual for me. Maybe my good QC record is paying off.

I also have an excellent QC record but still seem to have to wait until Saturday morning to pass irrespective of when I upload.

I have never had QC this quick before. Usually its always a couple of days, sometimes up to 5. Not sure how I got so lucky twice in a row. Just got in the right queue I guess.

They must really be on the ball at QC. Last night submitted 26 photos. About 3 in the morning UK time. By 11 a.m. my time, they had passed QC. 12 hour turn around. My fastest ever!

Jill

Same here  ;)

My last ten (or more) batches have all passed the very next day. Apparently got promoted to the "12 Hour Turn Around Club", just like Jill  -_-

Milady Jill, would you care to join me on Saturday for a little stroll to the SMC (Saturday Morning club) and say "hello" to the ............ loosers   :PLOL

.........

.....

Ooooh! That wasn't nice of me. Bad boy, very bad boy.....

Cheers,

Philippe

Certainly Philippe. Shall we bring them coffee and scones to keep them happy while they wait?

We would love to see someone who is still on the outside. Perhaps Jill would like to put a file in the cake so we could be on the outside sooner.

I used to be a fully paid-up member of the Saturday Morning Club, despite not having a fail for a couple of years. I am now usually cleared in a couple of days at most.

Still not sure how it works, but even a week has got to be better than a month.

Given all the trials and tribulations involved in just being human, I'm really surprised that people still get exercised about QC times ;)

Despite an excellent QC record (at one point 5 years of continous passes) I've never had a batch go through in less than two days, and the norm is three or four. I really don't care as long as they pass. Sales have completely dried up anyway so I don't suppose an extra day or two off the shelves is going to make any difference.

Two days is usually the longest I have to wait and within 12 hours isn't uncommon. As mentioned in previous threads, it could sometimes take months for stock agencies to get images up for sale in the "old days."

Very s..l..o..w month for sales for me as well.

I'm wondering if you have a good record and the batch you submit is of a size where none of the pictures are subject to random manual inspection, then perhaps the batch just gets passed automatically (no point in delaying the batch). If, irrespective of reputation, some shots are scheduled for checking then you are queued along with the rest.

That might account for the wild inconsistencies.

Alamy?

Can't think why it might be, but I am in the club along with Philippe and Jill (I'm the quiet guy at the back :P).  Things started speeding up in mid-Nov and since mid-Dec nearly every submission (17 total) has gone through in 8-24 hours: amazing!

Individual submissions in that time have ranged between 2 and 11 images (exc. News).  I also have only one fail in 375 submissions.  So I'm guessing small, regular submissions with a good record is the key here?  OTOH, it could just be totally random!

For those of us who have to wait longer it is probably because Alamy's editors are spending time selecting lots of images to go into Creative.  ;)

Pearl

You could be right! Can I join your club? ;)

So 25 Jan just passed, my slowest ever...re Saturday Morning Club - it is Saturday morning here, but still Friday most places. Is the SMC a broad church and welcomes all time zones? I eas going to go hiking today but now will hole up in a dim room and code photos? Do I get a membership pass for that?

Two small batches from the 28th (evening of the 27th in my time zone) still waiting for QC.  Pretty normal for me so I'm not alarmed yet.

Edit:  They passed the following morning, early on the 31st.  No complaints from me.

This is getting silly.  Just checked my 25 and 30 January submissions and they've passed.  E-mail advisory timed at 23:48 (GMT).  India office will be too early for anyone to be about, UK office well abed, US office - who's doing overtime on a Friday night?  Is there a secret Australian or New Zealand QC bunker we don't know about?

My 4 uploads starting Sunday 25th have all just passed QC.  I don't understand why some of us have to wait so long whilst others sail through the next day.  Passing the next day allows a much smoother and more efficient workflow but i wouldn't mind if we all had to wait, it's the discrimination that I really object to.

  • 2 weeks later...

Uploaded batch yestarday afternoon, approved today morning, one more time very fast (is it actual norm?) and no email with info as usually so need to check personally (or notice it by accident ;) ).

Btw, I have small problem - where will I find all my model releases?
