I am using a Dell 24" at the moment am very happy with it. I intended to go for a 27"screen but a colleague tells me that BenQ are also good, has anyone here had experience with them? I am interested in BenQ experiences as well as my 24in Samsungs are getting tired (esp backlight) - I was planning for the Samsung 27in (2560 x1440) which are a little more epxensive than the BenQ which do look interesting. "but"? BenQ do a 27" IPS monitor (2560x1440) for just over £300 (one left at Amazon). BenQ make a lot of monitors, but nearly all are TN, so anyone's experience of them is best going in one ear and out of the other. A very highly regarded budget monitor is the Asus ProArt PA248QJ (around £370). Its only 24" but you can probably pay three times as much without getting much more. Guest Posted November 8, 2014 Share Posted November 8, 2014 I would echo Robert about the ProArt range, Ultrasharps are also pretty good at that sort of price point range. You won't see the difference unless you start spending out for a Spectraview or Coloredge. However for ease of use or calibration, money does matter. David Davies Posted November 21, 2014 Author Share Posted November 21, 2014 Well, I now have the BenQ GW2765HT sitting on my desk, for the price (370€) it is OK, but if I had had more cash I would have preferred the DELL. (If I had had even more, I would have gone for an Eizo) It seems that it is designed of windows, as a cd (driver) supplied is only for windows. I contacted the hotline and they said that there are no plans to supply software for apple. To be honest, I don't know if it is necessary as my monitor seems to work well without it! I have only calibrated it by eye at the moment as I don't have the calibration thingy. I found the Srgb calibration on the blue side, but in the "user" mode it is easy to calibrate! I am still on 1920X1080 resolution as my graphic card doesn't seem to cater for 2560x1440 and have not found an update for MacPro yet. What's important for me is, the prints from my Epson 9900 look almost exactly as they did on my monitor! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My current Dell 27" replaced a Philips 24" which replaced a Benq can't remember inch over a period of a decade. I was happy with all of them when I had them. The Dell is fine, easy to calibrate, however the model I have has a built in USB 3.0 hub which is notorious for failing (as mine did). There's no apparent fix for it, but it still works as a USB 2.0. I have an Eizo myself, but when it comes due for replacement I would get an HP Dreamcolor. They have beautiful colours & sharpness in a way that feels smooth & natural.
