lorenza posted a topic in Stock photography discussion and contributor experience
Passed the milestone of 10,000 images (entered alamy in March 2017): happy! Let's see in December 2024, considering that the coming year also brings me my pension!!! We will see..😀 Thanks to everyone who is always here to give advice and suggestions! I would like to do it too but working all day it's not that simple. You are always available, respectful and competent!!! Lorenza- 16 replies

My travel bucket list appears to be getting longer and longer whilst at the same time my mortal coil continues to unwind at a predictable but alarming rate (at least that is how it appears to me). All of which got me thinking about prioritising places to visit. Where would you go and what would you photograph if money was no object? I started to compile a list but then gave up when I realised how oversaturated the travel photography market is. Any bright ideas, anyone?

Personally I would find it useful if there was a field associated with each photo that recorded the number of times that the photo had sold and, ideally, its max, min and average price. That way it would be easier to remove photos that were not selling from each portfolio. :-)

I want to stop the sale of my photos and hide it from the Alamy website(temporarily), without removing its metadata (tags, caption, etc) or deleting the photos. Is this possible? or do i need to just delete them?

I'm fairly new to Alamy and was wondering how I could see all my images on Alamy. And if I have done anything wrong, because when I search for my pseudonym only 87 pictures come up when I have 300 for sale.

Hi, I am new to stock photography, basically because I like to learn a lot about photography, experiment, etc. and I thought why not start something that eventually throws out a few bucks. I am not sure if this is still possible from 2019 or if agencies took over and an individual amateur photographer has no chance at all to gain visibility. However, as a start I am asking myself the following question: Should I focus on quantity (shoot/upload as many good photos as possible) or on trend by shooting only specific required photos? Usually stock platforms even give hints on what kind of photos and motives are requested. What is your suggestion on that? Markus

Photos from the California wildfires. I thought there was some great photography in this slideshow, worth sharing. https://www.sfgate.com/california-wildfires/article/Kincade-Fire-now-60-contained-Sonoma-County-14638321.php

Hello All:) Over the past few days of trying to manoeuvre around the Alamy site, I've done a reasonable imitation of Daffy Duck...who would have probably thrown his laptop out the window in a fit of grand annoyance, with steam coming out of his ears!:) Prior to all of that I read everything available on how to get around the site, submit photos, etc.. Nobody likes to look stupid, or like they haven't done their homework; for some reason, I'm finding it difficult to move around Alamy's site. A few minutes ago, I tried submitting another 3 photos that were rejected because of the 2 accompanying photos...I wound up submitting only 1 of the 3! Twice!! Any pointers would be appreciated!:) Thanks!

Hello everyone, I'm a beginner. I uploaded my 3 first photos who were passed Quality Control. I filled in and saved the informations for these photos 2 days ago. Now they still aren't on sale status. So I would like to know if it's normal. Should I continue to wait a bit more? Thanks a lot! (Sorry for my english)
