  1. Hi there, This is my first post on the Forum, so I hope I’m in the correct section etc. Would it be ok to promote my Alamy images on a website I am building? The plan would be to use the image to illustrate an article on the website and provide a direct link to the Alamy image licensing page. The images would obviously be low resolution and watermarked. Apologies if this has been covered before. Steve PS. - any examples of this being done already would be welcomed.
  2. Hey everyone, I’m Alex, a new photographer at Alamy. I’ve got a few questions :) 1) How long exactly does it take for my images to be reviewed? I’ve heard a day and 3 weeks, but I just wanted some confirmation. :) 2) Is there a way I can stay signed in? Every time I sign in, after awhile I’m out again... 3) Can I not add a payment method (for now)? I’m willing to add one later, but will my account balance be rest if I add/change one? 4) Will my images go live after I add the tags/title/etc., or does Alamy have to do a quick check? :) 5) How can I create and access my portfolio? I know the URL is something like alamy.com/portfolio/username, but it doesn’t work... Thanks!
  3. On the Alamy Image Manager page, my image count is given as 3040. However, on my dashboard, the total of images under Status comes to 2859, a difference of 181. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Iain Lowson
  4. I have contributed to Alamy almost 10 years now and have well over 15,000 images online. I average a minimum of several image license sales every week of the year. I have been shooting professionally for over 30 years, using digital capture and Adobe Photoshop for almost 15 years, and have never had a digital image rejected for quality reasons by any other stock agent, including Getty, except by Alamy. In recent months I have experienced what I perceive to be inconsistencies in the Quality Control measures. After going years without a QC Failure, I have had two batches of images fail in recent months. The images were captured with a Canon EOS 1DX and Leica M9-P. In both cases I made (from the original files that Failed QC) beautiful 16x20” prints and sent them in to Alamy for further consideration. In both cases Alamy QC said the images were not up to their standards. I completely disagreed with their assessment, but to no avail. I am seriously considering pulling my images from Alamy. The amount of time spent properly preparing & submitting images against the increasingly low fees is not providing a very good return on investment. I am wondering if anyone else is having similar, inconsistent, problems with the quality-control group? Mark Weidman _______________________________ H. 6. I've just passed 10,000 images with Alamy!!! It's taken me nearly 12 years but i've made it before the end of the year, which was my aim at the beginning of the year. Here's to the next 10,000, which hopefully won't take as long! John.
