  1. I can't understand the business model of selling stuff for 12 cents, no matter of how many sales Alamy make. And it is insulting to us, the photographers. This year I had a good year in the number of sales. As for money, not so good. My best year was 2010.
  2. First time in Paris, 18 years old, in 1963! Sold today for $44 by distributor IN FRANCE!!! Amazing.
  3. Yesterday, one of those terrible small sales; $1,51. Today one for $186. I never get the Alamy business model! Rolf
  4. I had one of those too yesterday and I did not go all the way to Svalbard to shoot pictures and then have Alamy sell them for such miniscule amounts. Disappointed! Rolf Stockholm Sweden
  5. I can't understand why so many are in across-the-board distribution. It makes no sense to me. I had a just over one dollar sale this week. A portrait of a person who has been dead since the mid 80s and it was world wide. Drives me crazy. Then this one came in: Country: WorldwideUsage: Consumer goodsMedia: Garments/t-shirtsPrint run: up to 1,000Start: 27 January 2022End: 27 January 2025Duration: 1 year $6,45!!! A 50 year old picture of the Monty Python actors! Both these can't be re-created again. On the other hand, I have very few royalty-free pictures on Alamy but right before New Years a sale came in - a picture from the US taken in 1986 sold for $300!
  6. I take it all back! I have this month had two $3-sales and today a sale for $1,63 showed up. I mean, what's the point? I will never understand how it is a good business to sell at that price, Just the handling of that sale must cost Alamy much more. And no, my take won't buy a cup of coffee! Rolf in Stockholm
  7. I have recently got a bunch of direct sales, not through distribution, in countries like France, Germany, Italy and India as well as Ireland. Still for peanuts, but... Rolf Stockholm, Sweden
  8. I just had my second best year in the number of sales, 72, just one short of my record from 2012. Money-wise, not so much, but I had hoped to pass $50.000 in gross sales this year but I am $18 short. On the other hand, my average gross sale price on Alamy is just over $71. Not bad, but that is thanks to the early years when prices where high. So, Happy New Year everybody! I hope next year will be better in every wat!
  9. No, not the distributor in Brazil, but I lost some there too.
  10. I just had this refund pop up: B5RKY9 _70D0690 Rolf Adlercreutz (29 July 2020) Rights Managed Sale refunded - Original sale date (18 October 2016) $ -21.52 Almost 4 years ago! Must be a new record! Rolf
  11. I’m already having a better year than any year since 2014, mainly thanks to two nice $$$ sales. Had a surge the other day as well! 8 sales on the same subject for a book, but it brought me less than 40 usd total. so, ups and downs, as always. Rolf
  12. Only 2 sales but one for $650 and the other for $65 so I'm happy. The big one was a renewal of an exclusive licence. The original was for $950, that is my best sale since I joined in 2003.
  13. Could by about norwegian Petter Stordalen who owns the Clarion chain. Big name in the Nordic countries, Multi Millionaire, recent divorce and so on.
  14. Thank you! I'd just looked at my stats since I joined Alamy in 2003 and I still got an average sale price of just over $73 gross. Pretty happy with that. I don't do PU, most distributors or other low-paying stuff.
