  1. From the CLA site: "A CLA Copyright Licence is required if any of your staff make copies from any of the 16 million-plus print or online publications that CLA represents". I guess I'll just keep going with a couple of hundred websites and leave it at that. Oddly, last year I missed the Part 1 entirely, and got the biggest payout from DACS by a large margin. Go figure.
  2. I'm sure this has been discussed, but I couldn't find anything by searching here. Web uses of images seem to be endless now. I'm up to more than 100 for the last two years (I missed 2022 last year), and I'm getting tired. My question is: is this actually useful? I'm assuming that since DACS asks for web usage, it's taken into account. I doubt anyone has empirical evidence, but does anyone have an in at DACS with someone in the know, with some advice?
  3. Another lack-luster month for me: 13 sales for $201/75. 2023 had sales numbers drop from 393 last year to 226, although sales numbers is still trending upwards for the last 10 years. Revenue on the other hand continues to steadily decline over the long term, with $3K less this year than last. I admit that starting with COVID in 2020, my output has dropped substantially. I wish you all a happy New Year.
  4. This used to be poor, but I guess this is normal for me now: 9 sales for $264/104.
  5. I've never had any problem with withholding tax from stock sites (one exception: agefotostock wanted a certificate, so I got one for Spain). For DACS, I seem to need a new certificate for the UK every 5 or more years. It's free, and not too much hassle, but as pointed out: expect a long lead time. I wish I was as generous as you John. In 2020 I tried to get a lousy 33 pounds back from HMRC, when DACS withheld 10%. I could not contact anyone at HMRC about this via e-mail or snail mail. I then tried an online "self-assessment". Big mistake. Now HMRC believes I owe them yearly income tax forms. I am a Canadian taxpayer, so I'm not going to do that. So far, my fines for not filing are about 2000 pounds. Lovely. I guess I'm never going back to the UK.
  6. Another poor month for me: 13 sales for $192/74. DACS was exceptional this year ($$$$) with more than 4 times my normal amount. Especially surprising since I forgot to put together my usage search results for 2022 in time. Go figure.
  7. After up and down months for a while now, this was a double-down over the last two months. Only $180/70 based on 16 sales.
  8. Betty, have you tried to download the "Net Revenue Sales report" spreadsheet? It usually has all the information we get.
  9. I'm still on the Alamy yoyo: In April $62, May $379, June $83, July $349, and now for August back to $70 based on 19 sales. At least AS and SS pulled in another $294 to take up the slack.
  10. I know it won't be funny now, but: I don't get it. Please explain🤔 ...Oh, wait a minute. Finnish, now I get it.
  11. Things have been jumping around for me: April $62, May $379, June $83, now July $349. So a good month ($876 gross) on 12 sales.
  12. Plus, that physio must be working.... you're looking younger every time I see you! 😀
  13. Years ago I took an image of a woman knitting in a log cabin at Pioneer Village in Toronto. She was one of the "actors" there, with grey hair and pioneer clothing so she looked very Grandmotherly to me. I keyworded accordingly and had "old" in there. Some time later her daughter saw the image and contacted me complaining that her Mom was not "old". I said "fine" and removed the keyword. Sheesh.
  14. Last month was great; this month not so much. I had 51 (!) sales for $223 gross, $83 net. SS ($171) and AS ($234) taking up some of the slack.
  15. Not sure if this is a positive result, but I just got 40 sales for China at SLIGHTLY higher prices: $0.50 - $4 gross. Now if we could keep that trajectory going...
