I rarely commented in the threads, but enjoyed reading them immensely. They will be missed. Jill

This is now the problem with having so many images to choose from. With poor keywording on many images, clients find themselves in a sea of unrelated images, spending valuable time sifting through them all. Of course, if I were searching for a person repairing a clock, I would search "person repairing clock", not "repair clock". Clients need to be more definitive in their searches. I'm still surprised to see so many vague searches when I check out All Of Alamy. Jill

Alamy Silver to Gold
Jill Morgan replied to kennethwfd's question in Community support: ask the forum
I got stuck in the silver basement a couple of years ago. When I did go over the $250 the following year, every sale after that sale was at the Gold level. Has been ever since. Jill -
I currently use a Canon 90D which is a 32.5 MP cropped sensor camera. It pretty much pushes the edge on the max of mp for cropped sensors. The first thing I noticed when I used it with my old 70-250 lens was the quality of the images. At first of course I thought it was the camera, as I had perfectly great images with that lens on my Canon T4i which is an 18MP camera. I soon learned that the lens was not good enough for my new camera so purchased the 100-400 f/4 L lens (used) and noticed the difference immediately. All my bird images are taken with this lens and camera combo. It pretty much lives on the camera. Jill

I put it in ACR and simply hit auto. This is how the bottom left corner came out. If straight from such a quality camera, it should have brought out the darker areas but they are just black blobs. And the vines and flowers are also pixel blocks of colour. This has to be a very compressed image. Perhaps the in camera settings are set to low quality jpeg. Jill

I think this one is not salvageable at all. When at 100% everything has tons of noise. The people nearest the camera (including the guy in the checkered shirt with the strap across his back) have green hair. Even the chairs way at the front of the image are full of noise. And it is so soft. Time for the bin. Jill

I'm afraid I don't agree with Alex. Your images appear sort of dark and muddy to me. You may need to calibrate your monitor. You need much more description in your captions as they are searchable by buyers. I was looking at the image of the flamingoes and you have no mention on where this photo was taken. You have both Africa and Asia in your keywords, so it can't be both. Be more specific on location. If in Africa, then where? It is a big continent. What is the name of the lake that they flamingoes are in? When showing birds and animals, also include their latin names. You have way too many useless keywords that will end up hurting your image placement by Alamy in the long run. As mentioned, this couldn't have been taken in both Africa and Asia. Which species of flamingo is this? It appears to be a Greater Flamingo. There are six different species of flamingoes. Don't try to reach that green bar or force yourself to come up with 50 keywords. Just use keywords that directly relate to your image. Think like a buyer. If I were searching for your image, what would I be typing in the search? I may search "Greater Flamingoes in northern Africa" or I might be more specific in the location. I may be publishing a book on the birds of Kenya so I would be looking for those specific keywords. You have to think like a buyer. You have a lot of misspellings in your keywords as well. I hope this helps. Not trying to be overly critical, but if you want to be successful you will need to make changes. Jill

Now here is something interesting. If I am signed in, I can still get the $12.99 plan, but if I am not, then it doesn't appear in the choices. I just realized that if I choose the Photo choices, it shows up, but not if I choose the "All" choices So here is a new question. Is the PS in the cheap Photo plan different than the PS in the Graphics choices? As the PS in the Graphics choices is $29.99 and only comes with Adobe Fresco which is $12.99. And I find it pretty useless anyway. Kittl is much better. So even as a graphic designer, the cheap photo plan would be the better option if you just wanted PS. And most graphics people need Illustrator anyway so opt for the whole package. Jill

I was browsing through Adobe's current plans, and I see the have dropped the base photography plan for Photoshop. They still have the one that comes with 1TB of storage, but not the plan that used to come with PS and LR Classic with no storage. It has become strictly LR with 1 TB of storage. I subscribe to the full Adobe package, so it doesn't affect me. How long has PS been dropped from the base photography plan? Just curious. Jill
